I don't understand why you trot out all those immigrants like you made a point. I never said that not a single one of immigrants contributed to American society. Of course some of them do, however, that is only because the group, "immigrants", is a huge one. It consists of millions. Whenever you look at a huge group like that, you will eventually find a few exceptions. And these exceptions are the successes that you listed. However, the general rule still remains. It is generally true that for the vast majority of immigrants, that would be the unsuccessful conspecifics of these entrepreneurs you mentioned, they are a net loss to American society. As a rule they cannot make a prosperous country, and that is the main reason they had to come to the US. They had to come to the States in search of opportunities that they could not find in their home countries. And some of them do become successful, however very often it's at the expense of native-born Americans (aka they either take jobs that could have gone to Americans, or they started businesses that real Americans could have started too but did not get the chance to).

He said that his wife came to the country with very little money and then became successful. He thought it was a very good thing. I think differently. The fact his wife came here with little money, meant that wealth and prosperity were pretty much non-existent in her home country. Which means she and her people are incapable of building a successful, prosperous country. So even though she did find success here, it's because she took well-paying jobs from Americans. In this sense, she is still a leech of some kind. Just not the worst kind of leech.
