730 jobs were saved and the Carrier deal

he said "up to 1100". The 730 plus more new hires and the people who will be employed to upgrade and expand the factory.

As usual our lib members never tell the whole story.

LMAO!

"How old are you?"

"Up to 1,000 years old."

You. Are. Dumb.

when the exact number is yet to be determined but you know the maximum, using the phrase "up to" is grammatically correct.

You, Are. Dumb.

Grammatically correct? What the fuck does that have to do with grammar?

It's not correct. In zero ways, shapes, or forms, is "1,100" correct. Period. He saved 500 jobs, and it cost the Indiana taxpayers $7 million to do it.

"Who's making these deals?" - Donald Trump. (YOU are, dumbshit).

1100 could be correct, no one yet knows. Sorry if you are too dumb to understand that simple statement.

Giving a tax credit to a company does not "cost" the taxpayers anything. Those jobs will pay taxes to the state, and since they are working they will not cost the state unemployment payments, welfare, or food stamps. Its a net gain for the state treasury. That's why all states give tax incentives to companies to locate or stay in their state.

I get it that you hate Trump and will rant like a scalded ass ape about everything he does, But when you show your complete lack of knowledge on a topic like this it only confirms that you are an ignorant liberal asshole.

lol @ 1100 could be correct. No, it's not, will not, and never was, correct.

A tax break doesn't "cost" anything? The company enriches itself thanks to the society paid for by the taxpayers of Indiana, and yet doesn't have to pay for it? And that costs nothing? But sure, let the $40k-per-year working stiffs cover it while the CEOs skate.

He's really fighting for the little guy, huh?
You can't know what a tax break costs until you know how much the loss of these jobs and the added cost of social services would cost.

those calculations are not difficult. Liberals just don't want to see them.

You apparently do not understand taxes or cuts to same.
If I pay $100 in taxes and receive a tax cut of $10, the state does not pay me that $10, I just pay $90 instead of $100.
As tax cuts are not payments form the state to me, they are not a cost to the state.

That's what they do.

The Washington Post threads are full of lunatics just like him screeching about how Trump is "taking food out of the mouths of children!!!" I have no idea why they think that, but it's utter garbage. Presumably they're afraid they're going to have to go to work, and thus no longer be eligible for snap benefits, and they'll have to eat only what they can pay for, and otherwise live within their means..you know, like the rest of us do.

It terrifies them because they know they do NOTHING to support their own children as it is...and they have no intention of doing anything if they can help it. And they know that's not good parenting, so they blame trump.

As usual our lib members never tell the whole story.
As always our CON$ never tell the truth!

Carrier CEO lets it slip on the Mad Money with Jim Cramer Show that they will be automating the Indiana plant with an $16 million investment which will mean fewer Indiana jobs. Tramp offset that $16 million with $7 million in tax breaks, so Tramp is paying Carrier to replace Indiana workers with machines.
Typical Trumpery!!!!

GREG HAYES: Right. Well, and again, if you think about what we talked about last week, we're going to make a $16 million investment in that factory in Indianapolis to automate to drive the cost down so that we can continue to be competitive. Now is it as cheap as moving to Mexico with lower cost of labor? No. But we will make that plant competitive just because we'll make the capital investments there.

JIM CRAMER: Right.

GREG HAYES: But what that ultimately means is there will be fewer jobs.

The people doing the upgrades to the plant will have jobs building and installing the upgrades. The people making the automation equipment will have jobs. Its not a net loss of jobs but rather moving American jobs from one sector to another sector. The American suppliers of AC parts will have jobs rather than Mexican suppliers.

You actually have to think about this to fully understand it. I know that is hard for you and that its much easier to merely repeat talking points given to you by your masters.

But if you want to talk about automation, can we discuss what minimum wage increases have done for fast food automation?

Not true as usual.
The fan and blower motors come from Mexico or China.
The compressor comes from China.
The electrical and electronic components also come from Mexico or China (a few come from other countries, and a VERY few come from the USA).
  • 2001 - Carrier and Haier formed a refrigeration equipment manufacturing JV in Qingdao
  • 2004 - Global commercial compressor center set up in Shanghai
  • 2005 - Ground breaking of the 15th Carrier global R&D center in Shanghai
  • 2008 - Carrier and Midea Electric formed an airconditioner manufacturing JV in Shunde, Guangdong
  • 2011 - Established a heat-pump manufacturing JV with Fuerda in Shandong

United Technologies Corp., Carrier's parent company, said it is raising prices for its heating, ventilation, and air conditioning equipment by up to 5%, starting January 1. The decision to raise prices was first announced on November 23, the week before the Trump deal was finalized.
The manufacturer that Trump convinced to keep 1,000 jobs in the US is raising prices

What fast food automation?

Bottom line:

1. $7.0M in lost tax revenue.

2. 1250 jobs shipped to Mexico.

3. 750 jobs stay.

Taxpayers got screwed.
But only until they are replaced by automation according to Carrier's CEO.

It is a being reported that the Trump team lied about the number of jobs saved as a result of the Indiana Carrier deal.
it is 730, not 1100 jobs as the media and Trump and Pence claimed.

Link to article here USW: 730 union jobs saved in Carrier deal - not 1,100

Hey 730 is great.

Good on Mr. Trump to do that.

Where was Obama? I mean really....Obama has zilch to lose in leaning on Carrier at all. He's M.I.A.

Obviously Trump didn't think 730 was great, since he lied and said 1000+.

I'll give him a break on this one. Who knows how many exactly with seasonal/PT employees and all.

When he says AF1 is a $4B aircraft or the contract is and it's actually less than $200M...that is troublesome

So, you on the left hate the carrier deal. Whether it saved 730 or 1100, or 6 is not the issue. You just hate it because Trump pulled it off. If obozo had done it, you fools would have been praising him and setting up alters to pray to him for more of the same.

Would you prefer that those jobs go to Mexico and the Americans be put on welfare and food stamps? What the fuck do you want?
