7 stories Barack Obama doesn't want told

Try five years

You should know by now that the mere mention of George W. Bush brings out all the anger suppressed by the right, who (on this board) will consistently deny they ever supported him in the first place. That's why it's useless to bring up the past administration at all. They like to pretend it fell into a black hole, never leaving its mark, and never to be resurrected. It is pathetically ignorant.

Troubled Asset Relief Program - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

As of February 9, 2009, $388 billion had been allotted, and $296 billion spent, according to the Committee for a Responsible Federal Budget.

The Congressional Budget Office released a report in January 2009 reviewing the transactions enacted through the TARP. The CBO found that through December 31, 2008, transactions under the TARP totaled $247 billion. According to the CBO's report, the Treasury had purchased $178 billion in shares of preferred stock and warrants from 214 U.S. financial institutions through its Capital Purchase Program (CPP). This included the purchase of $40 billion of preferred stock in AIG, $25 billion of preferred stock in Citigroup, and $15 billion of preferred stock in Bank of America. The Treasury also agreed to lend $18.4 billion to General Motors and Chrysler. The Treasury, along with the FDIC and the Federal Reserve, has also agreed to guarantee a $306 billion portfolio of assets owned by Citigroup.[

People that like to vote Democrat invented the phrase.."That is so last week...or so yesterday". They like to be hip.....up to date. Wise old men are just wrinkled old farts to them. Fuck tradition. Tradition is for squares. They're too smart to be into tradition.

Image is everything to them.

That's why a fake like Obama was able to so easily pull the wool over their eyes. They see themselves in him. They want to be like him.

He's a shallow and uncaring as they are. And the fact that they know they are uncaring makes them want to advertise their capacity to care to anyone who will listen to them. But deep down inside they could give a flying-fuck. They're too busy trying to keep up with the latest trends to be genuinely concerned.

Not very clever.

You couldn't even put it in your own words so you stole mine.

Shows you're not as orignal a thinker as you would want to be.

My intent was to show your shollow partisanship.
My version was just as valid as yours.

Little Barry is a narcissist because of BOOOOSH!

Little Barry has surrounded himself with Chicago political thugs because of BOOOOSH!

Little Barry is spending money like it falls out of the sky because of BOOOOSH!

Little Barry can't speak coherently without the teleprompter because of BOOOOSH!

Little Barry looks like the waffling wimp he is on the world stage because of BOOOOSH!

Lather...Rinse....Repeat.

What is quite evident....Obama bribes his opponents....those he's unable to crush.

Pretty much why he hates Fox News and guys like Rush and Glenn Beck. He can't buy them like he did CNN, AARP, Big Pharmaceuticals, the list goes on. He can't crush them because they're too popular. So he bitches and moans about them like a spoiled child.

Yea that tired ole "BOOOOOOOOOSSHH AN FOX NOOOOOOOOOZ!!" B.S. is wearing pretty thin with most common sense thinking Americans at this point. I don't think that will work for the Hopey Changeys in 2010 & 2012. We'll see where the Independents go in 2010 & 2012. They will likely be the deciding factor in these future elections. We'll see i guess.

I predicted this years back. I knew they would begin denying they had ever supported Bush.

The only thing they didnt back him on was immigration (one of his only smart postions).

I refuse to not put the truth in there faces even if they continue to lie.

Bite me.

I haven't supported a single republican --federal, state or local-- since '94.

Try your lame brained strawmen and sweeping generalizations over at DU and HuffnpuffPo.

It's like this Kids... 40-45% of People are going to Vote (D) and another 40-45% are going to Vote (R)...

Barry was Reaching for the 10-20% who were Moveable...

He will again in 2012.

If things have NOT Improved Substantially from 10%+ Unemployment, he will be WAY OUT on his Ass...

If they have, he will Probably be Re-Elected.

That's how this Game Works.

Shortsighted and Emotionally Driven, that 10-20% are.

:)

peace...

I don't see the Repubs being able to compete on the golden-tongue level with President Obama.

But I think you are on target re: the moveable middle.

The hope for the 2010 elections will be that ideas have moment, that ideals supplant rhetoric, and that the lack of a comparable speeker can be overcome.

Or else...

You're absolutely correct. Contrary to how most people on the right feel about me and my opinions, I would really like to see a moderate Republican emerge as a viable candidate. If the new conservative movement can't understand that this MUST BE DONE, then they are doomed for at least another half-decade. I can support common sense Republicans, but I can't support pure ideologues. And that's the bottom line for me.

So my question to you, since we seem to finally agree on something, is what does the GOP need to do in order to rise above those conservative voices that have become so destructive that the party may not survive? Much of that part of the population which calls itself Republican only looks at headlines and either doesn't have time or can't be bothered to tune into reality and analyze the big picture. They can hear ONLY those voices of anger and accusations because they're the ones constantly inourfaces, so they convince themselves that everything they shout and rail against must be true.

Then get over yourself and realise I was talking about those who have supported him and now deny it.

You are not the only person here.

How 'bout you get over yourself and quit making sweeping generalizations about people you know nothing about?

I know a lot of the people rightfully skewering the hell out of boyking from here and elsewhere, and most of them didn't support the Shrub either.

You fail yet again.

Very true. I care more for my country than my party and want to see a strong smart and healthy Republican party in place of the idiots who now control it. I want them so smart and reality based that I consider joining them. The current R party can in no way keep the Dems honest because they are mired in fantasy.

What you've shown is that you're good at being a parrot but it's a little tougher for you to come up with valid reasons to support your own conclusions.

You steal other folks words and you project the shortcomings of your side onto us.

Not very effectively I might add.
