Frankly, it seems absurd to believe Israel (or anyone else) would pay for any posts on any message Board including Tik Tok or Instagram or X.

Agreed. I can see an influential celebrity or some such being paid to endorse this or that candidate or even to trash the opposition in some way. But I would think that fairly rare and, yes, only for very large audiences that you see on influential social media like Tik Tok, Instagram, X. I doubt that people would pay for posts on a forum like USMB that has a fairly small population in members and those reading in by comparison.
