62% of 18-29 Year Olds Have a Favorable View of Socialism

Another great reminder that

1. public education is left wing homo controlled indoctrination
2. the solution is private school vouchers
3. everyone who opposes private school vouchers (W, Huck, Spencer Cox) is 100% anti conservative

U.S. Health Care from a Global Perspective, 2022: Accelerating Spending, Worsening Outcomes

In the previous edition of U.S. Health Care from a Global Perspective, we reported that people in the United States experience the worst health outcomes overall of any high-income nation.1 Americans are more likely to die younger, and from avoidable causes, than residents of peer countries.

Highlights

  • Health care spending, both per person and as a share of GDP, continues to be far higher in the United States than in other high-income countries. Yet the U.S. is the only country that doesn’t have universal health coverage.
  • The U.S. has the lowest life expectancy at birth, the highest death rates for avoidable or treatable conditions, the highest maternal and infant mortality, and among the highest suicide rates.
  • The U.S. has the highest rate of people with multiple chronic conditions and an obesity rate nearly twice the OECD average.
  • Americans see physicians less often than people in most other countries and have among the lowest rate of practicing physicians and hospital beds per 1,000 population.
  • In 2021, the U.S. spent 17.8 percent of gross domestic product (GDP) on health care, nearly twice as much as the average OECD country.

  • The U.S. is the only high-income country that does not guarantee health coverage.

U.S. life expectancy at birth is three years lower than the OECD average.

  • Despite high U.S. spending, Americans experience worse health outcomes than their peers around world. For example, life expectancy at birth in the U.S. was 77 years in 2020 — three years lower than the OECD average. Provisional data shows life expectancy in the U.S. dropped even further in 2021.9
  • Avoidable deaths per 100,000 population in the U.S. are higher than the OECD average.
  • The U.S. has the highest rate of infant and maternal deaths.
  • Adults in the U.S. are the most likely to have multiple chronic conditions.

Yes, yesterday you saw Gaza. Today you don’t see Sudan. Bla bla bla ICE.

I'm not subsidizing Sudan.

Lots of tragic places in the world.

We can't fix the world, but we can fix what we control.

That means no more subsidizing genocide in Gaza, and no more rounding up Maria the Maid because her paperwork isn't in order.

If it came down to it, then a man of all seasons like yourself would give up everything you have to another like an illegal immigrant if it came down to it. I guess that is the real test. If you wouldn't that's okay. As many people would not. It's the holier than thou gaia love responses in a world without utopia that is going to destroy us or make us a lot poorer. And believe it or not, the United States stabilizes the Western Hemisphere and is not perfect at it. When we are down and out; it will be open season with violence and wars.

Hmmm…what if we weren’t so foreign, what if we were still 80% Caucasian with firm ties to our founding principles and values?
Say it, good real core Americans FUCKED themselves big-time…didn’t they?

Dude, we've always been a nation of immigrants.

This has little to do with why young people see Socialism as potentially viable.

The reason why I suspect it is.

When I grew up, we still were in the Shadow of the New Deal. My dad belonged to a union, which provided him with good benefits. Lifetime Jobs were still a thing that people had. The tax burden was on the rich, where it belonged.

Then Republicans came along, busted up the unions, cut taxes for the rich, and increased taxes on the middle class.

Today, we all change jobs every five years. Sometimes it's a step up, sometimes it's a step down. People have to work two jobs if they want to maintain a family.

So these young people look at their parents, how hard they've worked and how little many of them have to show for it, and big surprise, some of them are saying, "Hey, maybe we should try something else!"

Dude, that had nothing to do with what i posted.

I mean, really, your posts are just... weird.

If most of the western hemisphere is poor dictatorships, and their people are clamoring to get in here, then we haven't stabilized it.

Nope. Trump's immigration plans are already failing badly.

He's not deporting as many people as he wants, because those other countries aren't taking people back.

Sure, he can illegally deport a handful to El Salvador, but now they've got full prisons and they've taken a shitload of our money, they don't want anymore.

Not as many as he wants but the apple cannot be eaten in one bite. I give him a "B".

Wow, you really believe that?

The only way you get there is if you count tourists who go home, which is pretty much what Gestapo Barbie is trying to do.

Her actual figures of how many people they are deporting are only about 15,000 a month.

Ouch. Didnt realize we are in this state of things healthcare wise.

Nope, I just don't buy the bullshit.

While the Trump administration has promised mass deportations, the number of people deported by ICE has not been regularly released to the public. NBC News has obtained internal ICE data on deportations which is reflected below.

Nice, glad we are getting them out

So America is a great country, except for the parts where people have to live. But your unnamed state is awesome. You won't tell us which state that is, of course, because the numbers would tell quite a different tale.

Like I have said many times before. I can pick out bad things about every state in the country. That doesn’t mean that every state in the country is a bad place to live. NYC is responsible for many billions is revenue, but living there would be a horrible step down for me. Much smaller and older home. Loud, crowded, terrible weather. Yeah, it’s neat if you like to go the Museum of a play every weekend, but I have much more varied interest that involve outdoor activities, including the ability to drive my cars. Anyway, the point is that these young people aren’t likely tethered to these places. They can move and live better. They make a choice. Now they complain that Capitalism isn’t working because they see extremely wealthy people living much better than them. They simply don’t realize that they can live much better than they are elsewhere in the same country.

Blah, blah, blah... the Europeans have socialism, they are doing just fine.

The Europeans rely on us for protection. Many also have plenty of debt, like France. These countries wouldn’t be doing just fine if the US stopped funding their protection. They spend their paychecks on wine and cheese and want us to pay the light bill. No wonder you lefties love Europe so much.

Fix our fucked up immigration system, and they will.

Fix it by allowing anyone to just come in as they please? I would be fine if we “fixed” it by giving them work visas, but giving them zero government benefits, including the ability to vote in local elections. If their employers want to offer them benefits, that’s fine. The problem is, leftist cities can’t help themselves and the burden will fall on the tax payers, just as it does now.

Trump isn't a kook? Do you actually read the batshit crazy stuff he writes on his fake-Twitter every day?

No, his policies are not damaging our country. Mamdami’s proposals will cause much harm to NYC. They will be looking for a bailout from dfederal taxpayers. If a Democrat gets elected President, he/she will bail them out and off we go as the precedent will be set and Socialism here we come.

Neither should be "negotiated". We should have health care, and we should be able to feed the poor.

SNAP wasn’t up for negotiation. That funding has stopped because Democrats won’t vote for the CR to keep the government opened. As for the enhanced subsidies, sorry, but that is part of a budget negotional. Just because you and Democrats feel that heavily subsidized healthcare and providing healthcare to anyone that walks across our border is a right, doesn’t make it so.

So these young people look at their parents, how hard they've worked and how little many of them have to show for it, and big surprise, some of them are saying, "Hey, maybe we should try something else!"

Funny, my kids don’t have that outlook at all, in fact, quite the opposite. They see the hard work that their mother and I have put in and the fruits of our hard work. My wife came into this country will nothing. She worked hard and is now successful. She would not have had that same opportunity, despite her hard work, in the country from which she left. America is still the land of opportunity, but it does require hard work. Many of these young people aren’t willing to do so, thus why Socialism is so appealing to them. My wife and her family are astounded at just how gullible these young people can and how easily they can be led to fall into the trap.

Nope. Trump's immigration plans are already failing badly.

We wouldn’t have nearly the problem if Biden had enforced the law. He didn’t care. Now Trump is left with his mess to clean up. Typical of Democrats…they leave a mess everywhere they go.

Pretty scary stuff here. Not only do 62% of young people have a favorable view of Socialism, but 34% have a favorable view of Communism. This is just more proof that our education system has gone off the rails. I contend that is due to enemy influence, but that is another discussion.

When will mature, adult Democrats, if there are any left, realize that they need to reign in the far-left of their party to prevent this type of uninformed, ignorant thinking? Are all Democrats so lost in the wilderness that they are unable to see the danger their current party poses to this Republic? The financial hub of our country is getting ready to elect a professed Democratic Socialist, in large part due to the young (and non-native born) population in that city. He will fail miserably. Maybe that will be a walk-up call, but I’m not so sure that will be enough wake people up.

https://www.cato.org/blog/young-americans-socialism-too-much-thats-problem-libertarians-must-fix

Why is it scary? Seems to be a normal course for society to take.

Politicians have fucked the people. The people connected at the top grift and steal their way to riches. So, kids want to try something different and maybe get some government cheese and a pod to live in. Politicians have let greed and power drive them to break the cardinal rule of survival...don't shit where you eat.

what difference hill.webp
