62% of 18-29 Year Olds Have a Favorable View of Socialism

Socialism itself is a lie. It can never work and has never worked. .
Of course it works and it depends upon what your goals are. Does Democracy work? I guess not. You can see what happened in the previous two elections. But maybe that wasn't "real" Democracy, huh? Does Capitalism work? You lied about WMDs in Irak, illegally invaded, then tortured and murdered a million innocent men, women, and children. Is that the Capitalist goal? But maybe that's not "real" Capitalism, huh? So what about Socialism? Does that work? Were Stalin's purges and murders part of the Socialist principles? Do you think Stalinism was "real" Socialism?

The Khmer Rouge was a treacherous and murderous Communist revolution in Cambodia, true? And who put a stop to it? The so-called Democracies and Capitalists of the world? No, they stood by and watched. It was Communist Vietnam that went in and defeated the Khmer Rouge. So, was it the Khmer Rouge or Vietnam that was the "real" Communists, huh?

I put it to you that you haven't got a clue what Socialism is all about. Yet here you are spouting nonsense such as "Socialism can never work and never has worked". Take a look at the International Democracy Index and you will find that ALL of the top Democracies of the world are Socialist-Democracies. But maybe you can’t "really" read? :dunno:

Socialism itself is a lie. It can never work and has never worked. Marxies like you always accuse others of the same shit they do. You're the one lying. I just proved it.

We operate under a socialist system. Stomp your feet all you want and pretending otherwise changes nothing.

Nowhere in Capitalism do you find the part where taxpayers are on the hook for bailing out failed businesses.

I read a political thinker for insight, rather than doctrine. My study of the writings of Karl Marx included a fascinating seminar on Das Kapital given by a brilliant member of the American Communist Party. I believe that Marx had two valid insights and that he was mistaken about everything else.

One can only say that socialism "has never worked" if one fails to distinguish between Communism and democratic socialism.

The closest approximation to democratic socialism that has worked is social democracy. Socialized medicine gets better results with less money than American health care.

Also, Communism enabled the Soviet Union to industrialize rapidly enough to produce the weapons that enabled the Soviet Union to defeat the Nazi invasion. The vast majority of German casualties were on the Russian front.

Communism enabled Communist China to produce the best consumer goods at the lowest prices. The keyboard I am using to type these words, the screen I read them on, my mouse, and my personal computer were all made in Communist China. They were reasonably priced. They work fine.

Golly, gee whiz! I wonder percent of American cars are white! That must be really scary! :omg::omg::omg: But I guess if people don't like the other colours ..... whew!

Right, Socialism isn’t scary at all. It it no way threatens the system of government of the most powerful nation in the entire world. No different that someone having a white car. ;)

Indoctrination is a horrible thing. Do some actual research and you will find that Socialism is not what you seek, unless your goal is for everyone except the ruling class to be equally miserable.

That seems to be the case RIGHT NOW in the US, and you people are pointing at a mayor who hasn't even took office yet.

Look at Trump.

You are an imbecile.

Try finding your slavery system, socialism, in the Constitution.

Let's prove it:

AI Overview

The U.S. Constitution is based on freedom, not socialism
It was designed to protect individual liberties and limit government power, which is the opposite of socialism's emphasis on collective control and centralized government. The Constitution establishes a system with separation of powers, checks and balances, and federalism to prevent tyranny and safeguard individual rights like freedom of speech, religion, and property.
Key principles of the Constitution related to freedom
  • Individual liberty: The Constitution and its amendments, especially the Bill of Rights, protect fundamental individual freedoms, including speech, religion, and assembly.
  • Limited government: It was designed to prevent government overreach through mechanisms like the separation of powers, checks and balances, and federalism.
  • Protection of private property: The Constitution upholds the right to private property, which is a core principle that contrasts with socialist economic models that advocate for collective ownership.
  • Popular sovereignty: The Constitution establishes that the government's power comes from the people, not the state, ensuring a government accountable to its citizens.

If you wish to reply as an adult great, if not don't even bother.

It works fine if you don't mind slaughtering millions of human beings.

Clearly that is your view.

We can be a bit more descriptive.

"Over the past 100 years the most oppressive ideology in the world has been communism [Marxism]. While the people who lived under it were starved, tortured and murdered, its leaders lived in luxury.
The suppression of ordinary people by their communist rulers far surpasses anything capitalist employers were ever accused of doing. While condemning exploitation, communist dictators turned out to be masters at it.

a. R.J. Rummel estimates that almost 170 million people were killed in the 20th century by their own governments. These are not deaths in war. They are the victims of genocide by the governments in the countries where they lived. Hate on the Left

Yeah, normal people hate Trump.

A lying, corrupt conman for his entire life, and you idiots love him.

Pretty scary stuff here. Not only do 62% of young people have a favorable view of Socialism, but 34% have a favorable view of Communism.
We'll check back when they have some life experience.

They are not made here due to people like you.

We operate under a socialist system.

I don't think so. We still have a capitalistic market economy, albeit with a lot socialistic policies. And our gov't does not yet have the control over the means of production, so what is your logic here?

so really, we are saying the same thing.

People love their socialism when it benefits them or their party.

Nor are we operating under capitalism so I guess my logic is your logic.

They 'control' a lot of production through regulations.

I see that you misunderstood my first point and my second one (the most important one) went way over your head:
1). Percentages mean very little because no matter the issue/subject there will ALWAYS be a larger/greater percentage to be discerned.
2). Read again, "I guess if people don't like the other colours ..." and replace the word "colour" with "what is available".
Indoctrination is a horrible thing.
Indoctrination? I don't know who you think you are talking to but you are way off.
Do some actual research and you will find that Socialism is not what you seek,
Research? Are you joking? I realise that reading someone else's words is all you've got to rely upon but I ..... well .... I've been around the block more than anyone you've ever "met".
unless your goal is for everyone except the ruling class to be equally miserable.
Jesus! It's too bad you are as young as you seem. You'd have loved Joseph McCarthy! o_O

Pretty scary stuff here. Not only do 62% of young people have a favorable view of Socialism, but 34% have a favorable view of Communism. This is just more proof that our education system has gone off the rails. I contend that is due to enemy influence, but that is another discussion.

When will mature, adult Democrats, if there are any left, realize that they need to reign in the far-left of their party to prevent this type of uninformed, ignorant thinking? Are all Democrats so lost in the wilderness that they are unable to see the danger their current party poses to this Republic? The financial hub of our country is getting ready to elect a professed Democratic Socialist, in large part due to the young (and non-native born) population in that city. He will fail miserably. Maybe that will be a walk-up call, but I’m not so sure that will be enough wake people up.
