It appears that GOP support for gun control laws..universal background checks, banning large capacity magazines, Red Flag laws, etc. is on the wane? I would guess that this is in response to the Dems calls--the party is circling their wagons..while the vast majority of Americans support such measures..will this negatively impact the upcoming election?

Reading the quote..seems to me that I'm commenting on how the more the Dems cried for gun control after Parkland..the more Republicans opposed it..even though they said the usual things in the immediate aftermath.

Cities exacerbate violence. Guns are a tool..as is a knife..or a rock..or a bottle. Difference is, one does not hear of someone driving by and throwing 50 rocks..or 50 knives or 50 bottles, now does one?

Per capita gun violence is much higher in urban areas compared to rural.

Conversely ... legal gun ownership is significantly higher in rural areas compared to urban.
