Eight children were murdered in 2026 because Louisiana refused to lock up a guy named Shamar Elkins after he fired five shots...

Are you one of the gun pussies who is afraid to leave home without a gun tucked in your bra?
If gun crime is -so- bad, we need to violate the constitution and further restrict the right to keep and bear arms, why shouldn't we be afraid to leave the house without a gun?
We can`t lock people up until AFTER they shoot someone,
That's how things work in a free country.

Why wasn't this guy locked up for the rest of his life after what he did in 2019?

It’s being widely reported that a guy named Shamar Elkins just shot and killed eight children in Shreveport, Louisiana.

KTBS just reported the following. The bolding is mine:

SPD, LSP investigating fatal mass shootings involving 8 children in Cedar Grove; victims identified

April 19, 2026

SHREVEPORT, La. — Eight children are dead and two women were critically injured in a mass shooting Sunday morning in the Cedar Grove neighborhood.

The suspected shooter, Shamar Elkins, is also dead. He was shot at a scene in Bossier City after a police chase.

Elkins, 31, has a prior criminal conviction in Caddo District Court. He was arrested in March 2019 on a charge of illegal use of weapons and carrying a firearm on school property.

The incident took place less than 300 feet from the fenceline at Caddo Magnet. The gunshots were fired in the direction of the school while children were playing outside, according to the police report.

Elkins pleaded guilty to the illegal weapons charge in October 2019. The second charge was dismissed, and Elkins was placed on probation for 18 months.

So here’s my question: Why wasn’t this guy locked up for the rest of his life after he fired five shots “in the direction of [a] school while children were playing outside” in 2019?
I don't know all the back story about this particular case, but, in general, even in red states, trials happen in the red state's blue cities where they are soft on crime.

Who is the commander of your "well-regulated militia" and where do you train? Have you read amendment #2 in its entirety or are you only familiar with the NRA`s version?

Because we live in a country where we love our guns more than our children.

The man was only exercising his God-given Second Amendment right to be a gun-toting lunatic.
He was allowed to exercise that right because Caddo Parish dismissed the charge of him having a gun on school property. That could've gotten him up to five years in prison. That would've made him a felon and not allowed to buy a gun legally. I hear from the left about not letting people have guns, but this person was caught committing crimes with a gun near where kids were playing outside and a democrat parish let him off the hook with a slap on the wrist. But by all means, let's make this a 2A problem instead of lenient judges and DAs not enforcing and punishing people for violating the gun laws already on the books.

Who is the commander ...
What's the matter, pea-wit?
Your talking points sheet doesn't have a response to my question?

Well?

So how do you stop "the wrong people" from getting guns?
The same way you stop people from murdering, assaulting and raping.
You don't. You punish them after they do it. That's why we have laws against rape, murder, assault and criminals possessing guns.
The idea we can enact a law that will prevent someone from breaking another law is absurd, at its best.

What people are saying is that people suddenly snap, or want revenge or just want to kill people, and lucky for them (rather than the victims) they can do this.
Tell us what law(s) will prevent this from happening, while also not infringing on the rights of the law abiding.

There are around 400 million firearms in this country if guns where the problem the US would be a grave yard. We have a crime and liberal justice system problem dumbass.
Guns in the wrong hands isn`t a problem? 40,000 firearms a year are stolen from the vehicles of law-abiding morons. Nation`s Real Ayeholes stop any legislation designed to prevent this and they receive millions of dollars every year from Public Enemy #1 aka NRA.

If you believe legislation can prevent people from stealing guns form cars, referring to you as a pea-wit is a compliment.
