I asked a muslim friend to explain what was wonderful about his religion, and he couldn't find a way to explain it.

I knew more about what was good about his religion than he did -- the art -- but he knew nothing about that.

He had no way to tell me that a belief system that gave him more power than any female member of his family, and allowed him to own a slave or two, was just what a man wanted.
