Probably for the best. I've heard all the arguments, and find none of them terribly credible.

Followers of every religion have done horrible things to please their "God".

So I don't judge politicians by what God they worship, unless they try to impose their religion on the rest of us.

I think Mamdani is going to be an awful Mayor because he has goofy ideas, but frankly, no worse than the last three or four guys who held the job.

What I have found is that no matter how assimilated they appear to be, as Islam becomes a stronger influence that assimilation falls away.

There is a movement within Islam trying to reform it's 7th century beliefs and practices. We just don't pay enough attention to them.
