3 People (Bill Gates, Jeff Bezos & Warren Buffett) are richer than the poorest 50% of Americans

You think if they don't get their tax cut, we will have to go through life without a computer?

What has Warren Buffet ever done for us?
Oh I get it, so you think their wealth is accumulated simply because they get tax cuts. It's not because of the billions of dollars people spend with their businesses. Do you know how much of buffet's wealth has gone to charity? How much of yours has?

Buffet is a good example of someone who makes billions off of the economy but contributes nothing to it

Our wealthiest citizens benefit from much more than a favorable tax rate. They benefit from corporate subsidies, government protection of their investments and a tax code that allows them to hide their earnings

buffet contributes nothing?
He doesn't produce anything
He is involved in speculative investments
He owns many major companies that employ hundreds of thousands of people. God damn you are such a typical liberal. I thought you were a little different but clearly not
What do they produce?

What has Warren Buffet ever done for us?

Provided millions of jobs.

For crying out loud, Markle, Buffett does not create jobs. He is a speculator. Personally, I like Buffett. He does not install gold hardware in his bathroom, and gold wallpaper on the walls, like Trump does. I am a speculator, too, so I have nothing against speculators, but speculators do not create jobs. In fact, some speculators make a living out of shutting companies down. Rent the movie, "Other People's Money". It tells it like it is.

Warren Buffett is a primary shareholder, Chairman, President, and CEO of Berkshire Hathaway. According to Wiki their products are:

Products Diversified investments
property and casualty insurance
Utilities
Restaurants
Food processing
Aerospace
Media
Toys
Automotive
Sporting goods
Consumer products
Internet
Real estate

Which of those do not provide thousands of jobs? Hint, they employ 367,700 people.

He has also pledged 99% of his fortune to charity when he dies.

Also from Wiki"

"Buffett is a notable philanthropist, having pledged to give away 99 percent[10] of his fortune to philanthropic causes, r primarily via the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation. In 2009, with Bill Gates and Mark Zuckerberg, Warren founded The Giving Pledge, whereby billionaires pledge to give away at least half of their fortunes."

The jobs are good, the Foundation is pure bullshit to cultivate more cheap labor from India and Africa.

actually the foundation does incredibly good work. that is how a person of wealth should treat their wealth... give back to the society that gave to them. and no one can argue with buffet's desire that workers be treated fairly and that the top 1% not be the sole beneficiary of our economic structure.

doesn't seem unfair to me. why should government act only to redistribute wealth to the top 1%?

Sure...give everything to India and Africa...makes sense.
You see, I actually watch his interviews and I listen.

The point is...

Why do we continue to help them accumulate wealth?

It's not their fault that you're not smart enough and disciplined enough to accumulate your own wealth.

How much do they have that they took from you personally?

What makes you believe that the economic pie is limited and if I earn a lot, there is less for you? How does that work?

You mean smart enough to buy politicians and write our tax code for us?

The economic pie is not limited
But those who are taking the biggest slice do not need assistance in gaining more slices

why should government act only to redistribute wealth to the top 1%?

They shouldn't. But if the government has the power to redistribute wealth, the people who want wealth the most will try the hardest to control the process.

That's the cruel irony of socialism. It doesn't do away with greed and economic power. It just changes the game so that the key to success is manipulating government policy rather than satisfying customers.

Bribing Congress is also Corporate Facism.
There is no true bribery free economic policy.

Gee, Markle, i am surprised that you did not mention that he also owns S&H Green stamps! (which he does).

But, OK, Markle, the concept of stockholders, not being the same a producers, is beyond your pay grade, so I concede your argument that Buffett spends 24/7 working on creating American jobs, is definitely true!

Do you believe businesses run without management?

Well, before, you were confusing stockholders with manufacturers. Now, you are confusing stockholders with managers. Trust me (as trump says). If I were a manager when I owned GM stock, I never would have let them kill Pontiac by building the Aztek.

If you get your news from prime time TV, that explains a lot, Hadit.

I don't. I do, however, believe that Trump's tax return showed that he pays millions, instead of the none the haters claim.

I am sure that you are going to post a link to Trump's tax return, right after you finish your lunch.....

Why would I do that since Maddow already did a show on it?

Translation: I have no link to Trump's tax returns. Therefore, I will do what Trump did, which was simply to ignore the issue.

Of course, in his case, Trump's reasoning was, "Nobody cares about my tax returns." But, feel free to send me an invitation if you want to talk about Maddow. Not having had cable TV for 7 years, I would not bother to read the thread, but an invitation would be a nice gesture.

You can pretend ignorance of Trump's taxes and Maddow's embarrassment over thinking she was going to prove he didn't pay any all you want, but he pays a lot of them.

The pharmacy lobbyists, who convinced congress to make it illegal for the government to negotiate the price of prescription Medicare drugs, are socialists? The shipbuilders, who made it illegal for a ship to go from one American port to another unless built in this country, are socialists? The American pharmacists, who lobbied a law that, unlike in Mexico, where RX drugs are sold in sealed boxes of 30 pills,no one but a licensed pharmacist can touch a controlled substance, and they are shipped in lots of 500 pills, where only a licensed pharmacist making $100,000 per year can take them out of a big bottle and put them in a small bottle----are socialists?

You're a bunch of cheap, opportunistic fucks.

Wow...sounds like you've got libertarians figured out. And Bill Gates.

Do you have posters of him in your room?

Gates, Bezos and Buffet have more money than 150 million Americans combined

Now why do I want to cut their taxes?
Because it is their money not yours.

No...they belong to a society from which they benefit tremendously

They are expected to contribute
No body belongs to society.

People are not property of others.

They do contribute. You are no judge or authority on how much they should contribute and neither is anyone else

Idk about bezos but the other 2 probably GIVE BACK more than 50% of what the rest of the entire country does. So what exactly is the point here?
The point is...

Why do we continue to help them accumulate wealth?
WE do not.

Buy their product or do not. If you do not want them to get your money simply do not buy what they sell
We sure do

We expect them to contribute less and less
No we do not.

You do not speak for others.

If I want a sidewalk, I'll build one.
If I want a bridge, I'll build one.
If I want a cop, I'll hire a private investigator after the bank is robbed.
If I want a fireman, I'll hire a private fire company after my house and the entire block burns down.
If an employee is being beaten by his boss the employee wants that beating.
I've heard it all.

I can see the nobility in what "he's" doing and how and why your mentality is what it is as it relates to the situation....BUT...should our laws be arbitrary? Isn't that how this all got started in the first place? You know, the ole' "let's just let a few stay" sort of thing.
This nation is becoming less American by the day....America became great because Americans were great...the soil we stood on had nothing to do with it...the attributes that have always made Americans great are being lost as American culture becomes diluted and lost...Ray Charles and Stevie Wonder can see what's happening. Where are things headed? Why do we refuse to acknowledge the collision course we're on? Why don't we have the balls to change it?

What does he do that makes him less American than the Americans I would rather get rid of instead of him ... :dunno:
I mean he isn't American by definition although his status could have changed ... But, what else?

.

Yes you "belong" to a society

All humans do

A weak response when you're faced with the truth.
