3 People (Bill Gates, Jeff Bezos & Warren Buffett) are richer than the poorest 50% of Americans

Moon, the problem with Buffett is that he is always complaining about things like, "My secretary has a higher tax rate than I do". You would never catch a conservative being so whiny....

The point is...

Why do we continue to help them accumulate wealth?

It's not their fault that you're not smart enough and disciplined enough to accumulate your own wealth.

How much do they have that they took from you personally?

What makes you believe that the economic pie is limited and if I earn a lot, there is less for you? How does that work?

The amount of money you can make from me is limited to the amount I have. Once that's gone, it's bread and water until the next pay day. In the Army for about a week out of the month I would live like a king, a very drunken king, and then the rest of the month I would do nothing but sleep, work, and watch a little tv. Then payday comes around and my pot would refill. That is kind of what makes me think there is a limit to the amount of money people can make off of other people.

What has Warren Buffet ever done for us?

Provided millions of jobs.

For crying out loud, Markle, Buffett does not create jobs. He is a speculator. Personally, I like Buffett. He does not install gold hardware in his bathroom, and gold wallpaper on the walls, like Trump does. I am a speculator, too, so I have nothing against speculators, but speculators do not create jobs. In fact, some speculators make a living out of shutting companies down. Rent the movie, "Other People's Money". It tells it like it is.

If the best you can do, that's the best you'll ever be.

Gee, Markle, i am surprised that you did not mention that he also owns S&H Green stamps! (which he does).

But, OK, Markle, the concept of stockholders, not being the same a producers, is beyond your pay grade, so I concede your argument that Buffett spends 24/7 working on creating American jobs, is definitely true!

Do you believe businesses run without management?

Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation (BMGF), also known as the Gates Foundation, is a private foundation founded by Bill and Melinda Gates. It was launched in 2000 and is said to be the largest transparently operated private foundation in the world.[4] The primary aims of the foundation are, globally, to enhance healthcare and reduce extreme poverty, and in America, to expand educational opportunities and access to information technology. The foundation, based in Seattle, Washington, is controlled by its three trustees: Bill and Melinda Gates, and Warren Buffett. Other principal officers include Co-Chair William H. Gates, Sr. and Chief Executive Officer Susan Desmond-Hellmann.[5]

Buzz meaning "cheap labor".

You might want to ask Rachel Maddow about that.

If you get your news from prime time TV, that explains a lot, Hadit.

I don't. I do, however, believe that Trump's tax return showed that he pays millions, instead of the none the haters claim.

I am sure that you are going to post a link to Trump's tax return, right after you finish your lunch.....

Why would I do that since Maddow already did a show on it?

Translation: I have no link to Trump's tax returns. Therefore, I will do what Trump did, which was simply to ignore the issue.

Of course, in his case, Trump's reasoning was, "Nobody cares about my tax returns." But, feel free to send me an invitation if you want to talk about Maddow. Not having had cable TV for 7 years, I would not bother to read the thread, but an invitation would be a nice gesture.

You can pretend ignorance of Trump's taxes and Maddow's embarrassment over thinking she was going to prove he didn't pay any all you want, but he pays a lot of them.

Is there a billionaire that any of the liberals here approve of? I feel like probably no. That's just too much money for one person to have

Right. That's the implied claim of the thread.

I think that you are missing the point. The point is that Trump has convinced a whole lot of mobile home dwellers that the rich are really, really looking out for their best interests, and if only they didn't have to pay such high taxes, their job of tightening the lug nut on a Ford at the plant would never have been outsourced to Mexico. But, because of those terrible high taxes, those laid off people will just have to transition to a life of meth lab manufacturing work.

I don't think Trump has much to do with it. He's a symptom more than a cause. Nor do I think "mobile home dwellers" believe the rich are looking out for their interests. I think they're just tired of the envy and class warfare crap. Socialists need another schtick.

actually the foundation does incredibly good work. that is how a person of wealth should treat their wealth... give back to the society that gave to them. and no one can argue with buffet's desire that workers be treated fairly and that the top 1% not be the sole beneficiary of our economic structure.

doesn't seem unfair to me. why should government act only to redistribute wealth to the top 1%?
