What part of "You are wrong!" are you not getting? Tariffs may have enough revenues to pay off one year's budget deficit in a about 10 years. The national debt will still increase!

Only if democrats are allowed to spend and thats not happening but they keep trying. First the deficit must be paid off then the debt can come down. The GOP gets the credit democrats get the blame. Works for me

I posted the OP talking about a fiscal 2025 1.97 trillion dollar deficit. That is higher than last year by about 150 billion.

Tarriffs have done nothing to slow it down.

One thing about Social Security is that the post WW 2 generation is two times the size of Generation X the one after them. Most of the post WW 2 generation, 1946 to 1964 are collecting now and some are dying off. This should provide some relief as Generation X starts to retire, and the previous generation expires. The Millennial Generation however is the size of the post WW 2 generation and they are grumpy.

Tariff income lowers the deficit because its cash income.
