A pity that the recent anniversary of the unpleasantness in Dallas didn't bring a re-issue of the notorious Kennedy half-dollar.
The original coin was introduced in 1964 and the celebrity of the thing peaked in 1965.
Also in 1965 there was a major influenza epidemic that predominantly struck liberal Democrats. Very few Republicans, particularly very, very few conservative Republicans, even caught the sniffles.
The reason?
Kennedy half-dollars!
Republicans tended to rush to wash their hands after being handed a Kennedy half-dollar in change. Liberal Democrats, on the other hand, tended to turn them face down and lick their back side.
Everybody knows that currency is a powerful disease vector but, alas, libs tended to think of those coins not as currency, rather as objects of devotion.
Who says there is no justice?
