Well......when you need to request the President for help, it makes your leadership look like a failure. Don't get me wrong, it's a failure now and has been, but at least President Trump is not getting any credit for saving the day.

That's besides the fact the worse the state of the country looks by election day, the more they can blame Trump in spite of his willingness to help. These are leaders from the opposing party, but the President is not going to make politics out of this. If they need help, President Trump is there for them.
