10.9 million people would lose health insurance under Trump's tax cut bill, CBO projects

We can start with the military industrial complex!
Really. Are you that far gone? You do realize that without a strong military we would not be a country but a subsidiary of one with a strong military?
Of course maybe that is what you really want and just pretend you care about America

So, tell us how a small shopkeeper, or a barista is going to afford private health insurance.

Your post reeks with casual cruelty.
If they’re THAT poor, then they’ll get Medicaid.

If they have moderate earnings, they’ll just have to budget for it. Maybe rent a cheaper apartment. I know that’s what I did when I was starting out.

If one is under the FPL in a state that did not expand Medicaid they cannot afford to purchase health insurance and they do not qualify for Medicaid unless that particular state set up something for them. Florida, anyone under 100% FPL that is able body or working does not qualify for a damn thing.

“House Republicans’ tax bill would lead to nearly 11 million people losing health insurance, providing a key source of savings to help finance President Trump’s tax cuts, according to projections that nonpartisan congressional scorekeepers published Wednesday.

Another 5.1 million people would become uninsured from a combination of expiring Affordable Care Act subsidies and new ACA rules that Trump’s health department proposed, the Congressional Budget Office said. Those coverage losses are separate from the CBO’s official score of the tax bill.

Altogether, 16 million people could become uninsured over a decade, the same number who were at risk of losing their insurance when Republicans attempted to repeal the Affordable Care Act in 2017, CBO said.

The CBO projections give Democrats ammunition to attack Republicans for taking insurance from low-income voters to pay for tax cuts that disproportionately benefit the rich. Most Republicans say the bill only takes insurance from those without jobs who are able to work and that pregnant women, children, people with disabilities, and frail older adults will not be affected.”

“Most Republicans say the bill only takes insurance from those without jobs who are able to work and that pregnant women, children, people with disabilities, and frail older adults will not be affected.”

This is a lie.

For example, that an adult without children of his own in the home can work doesn’t mean he can afford health insurance; low-income working adults will lose Medicaid, and not all employers provide health insurance to employees.

‘Frail older adults’ will also lose Medicaid if they’re under 65 and not established disabled by Social Security. Adults with no children of their own in the home who are incapacitated with pending Social Security disability claims can wait years before approval.

Incapacitated adults who are unable to work will lose access to Medicaid.

Republicans are as dishonest as they are incapable of sound, responsible governance.

It's unfortunate that anything of value in your post is going to be ignored.

Simply because you posted it.

Moron.

Then they can get Obamacare. One qualifies with an income as low as $15,000 - and it is practically free.

Not if you are under 100% FPL in Florida, you get nothing unless someone nice enough pays for your full premium and I know no one that is doing that.

How can someone who is working full-time be under the FPL. The minimum wage is $14 n hour in Florida, which would be $28,000 a year!

People with that income pay next to nothing for Obamacare.

Not everyone works full time.

If you were using $28,000 as your modified adjusted gross income the cost of regular premium and subsidy they may receive is different for different ages and counties and plans and no a single person with that income is paying more than practically nothing.

1. So you’re saying people who don’t want to get full-time jobs won’t be able to get subsidized Obamacare? Even if they work just 30 hours a week, they’d earn enough.

2. So I guess the answer is they have to work at least part-time if they want taxpayers to subsidize or totally pay for their health care.

3. And finally, a 30-year-old in Florida earning $26,000 gets a taxpayer subsidy of almost $500 a month!

Nobody needs to lose their healthcare at all. Simply either buy your own plan, or get a job and participate in your employer's plan. What's wrong with you facediaper??
Um...retard?

A lot of employers don't offer health insurance to their employees. The cheap bastards throw them onto the government's Medicaid program and have taxpayers carry them. These are the same employers who don't pay their employees a living wage.

You live in an opaque bubble of ignorance.

Who Democrats want you to believe is losing Medicaid...

If the employer doesn’t offer health insurance, the worker can buy a plan off the Obamacare exchange. If he earns a modest income, his monthly premium will be heavily subsidized.

Typical leftist useful idiot. Claims a government program(Obamacare) that covered 1/3 of the people it promised at four times the cost is a raging success.
Gosh! If only Trump hadn't lied about having a replacement, amiright?

You totally fell for that obvious hoax, and have never held Trump accountable. You let him slide because your ego can ot face the fact just how stupidly you fell for his obvious hoax.

The entire GOP lied to you about THEIR replacement they never had.

You let them lie to you. You BEGGED them to lie to you.

The fact we still have Obamacare is on YOU gullible dumb *****.

That is a total lie.

Most people on Medicaid work harder than you do and receive less than a living wage.

They work for asshole employers who don't provide them health insurance and who rely on taxpayers to pick up the tab.

You live in an opaque echo chamber of ignorance.

I work 23 days at a time, 70 hours a week to help pay for my health coverage. Why can't everyone work to pay for their own? I pay 120 dollars a week for health insurance, and the day the CEO of UHC got shot, UHC denied me coverage for medication my gastroenterologist prescribed for me as they said it was "off label" which is, of course, bullshit. So I shed no tears when 10 million dollar man got a bullet in his back. They told me if you had just been on gov't healthcare, it would have been paid. So why can't I get free healthcare? I work harder than most people do.

I haven't been home for Thanksgiving, July 4th, Easter or any other holiday other than Christmas with my family since 2016. I'm currently stuck at a tiny truck stop in east Texas waiting to deliver a load Monday so I can be home Tuesday, at the earliest.

Do you know how much it costs to buy your own health insurance?

Please explain how someone earning minimum wage is supposed to do that.

Go head. Explain.

Many, if not most, work two, sometimes three, jobs just to survive.

These people work for employers who don't offer health insurance. Their employers depend on you and me and every other taxpayer to pick up the tab.

And now you want to take THAT away from them, too?

It’s cheap if your income is moderate. Just go through Obamacare.

There are about 10 million able-bodied adults without children who are NOT working at all. Why should taxpayers have to fund their Medicaid if they’re not willing to work even 20 hours a week?
