I do believe they were the first to use an orchestra to play along? NOt sure, but this song rocks my boat even today.(Kashmir)

the Beatles, the Stones and others did it before Zep did...

but still...

btw... saw Plant & Page perform this tune in concert nearly 20 years ago, with the full orchestra behind 'em...

and, yeah... it was fuckin' awesome...

I wanna officially protest the people nominating Kashmir.

It's a "Blue Mooner!"

(Blue Moon song - song you've heard so many times, you could sing it in your sleep;
a favorite song you're so sick of hearing again, that you only care to hear it, once every "blue moon")

There are better Led Zep songs (whom I have seen twice), that can get nominated.

Like this one....

The same is true for those nominating "Comfortably Numb", which I will deal with in a moment.

This band is probably the only thing you and I will ever agree on.

I saw them 6 times (only once with Keith Moon) and everytime I see your avatar, this is the song that pops into my head...

lol... I was just now remembering this, which I saw aired on the Smothers Brothers Comedy Hour back around '67...

Comfortably Numb, is also a Blue Mooner.

And besides, there are better Pink Floyd songs (who I also saw twice) I am not personally sick of.

Like this one...

But if you're going to nominate Floyd, there ain't too many songs that can top this one...

...the best Floyd song of all-time!

Starts off slow and builds to a fevered pitch. Nothing better.

btw... bit of bayoubill trivia here...

I'm fairly certain that Obscured By Clouds was on the turntable when my first child (who's now 36 years old) was conceived... :)
