You'd Better Have The Correct Religious Views For a Government Job....

1. David Coppedge, who worked as a "team lead" on the Cassini mission exploring Saturn and its many moons, alleges that he was discriminated against because he engaged his co-workers in conversations about intelligent design and handed out DVDs on the idea while at work.

2. Coppedge lost his "team lead" title in 2009 and was let go last year after 15 years on the mission.

3. NASA's Jet Propulsion Laboratory is defending itself in a workplace lawsuit filed by a former computer specialist who claims he was demoted — and then let go — for promoting his views on intelligent design...

4. ...[the idea that] life is too complex to have developed through evolution alone.

5. Opening statements are expected to begin today in Los Angeles Superior Court after two years of legal wrangling in a case that has generated interest among supporters of intelligent design.

6. "It's part of a pattern. There is basically a war on anyone who dissents from Darwin, and we've seen that for several years," said John West, associate director of Center for Science and Culture at the Seattle-based Discovery Institute. "This is free speech, freedom of conscience 101."
Former NASA worker says he lost job over promotion of intelligent design

7. "Coppedge’s attorney, William Becker, says his client was singled out by his bosses because they perceived his belief in intelligent design to be religious."

i have no idea if he was or wasn't fired for what he thinks he was fired for but handing out religious, or non religious DVDs , while at work, makes him one of the duller tools in the shed.

and i guess it's up to him to prove that he was singled out due to this. should be fun to watch as this unfolds.

oh, and for those who push for Christianity to be our national religion, watch and learn.

The left intends a religious test for any occupation or position. Everyone wishing to be employed, belong to some sports team or run for office take a vow of atheism.

Nah, they just can't be Christian.

You have a point there. If the man had been muslim, the company would have had to accommodate five times a day prayer, a prayer room, and a new rug.

As a government employee, he should have been reprimanded for handing out religious literature on the job.

Religion and politics have no place in the workplace

Perhaps we need a new law to regulate suitable topics for workplace conversations?

Sarcasm off.

Yes we do.

If you meet with your HR representatives they can explain what are acceptable workplace topics

Religion and Politics will not be on the list. Especially in government employment

You are allowed to practice your religion in private. You are not allowed to push your religious views on others

Around here if you say you are an atheist you will not find many jobs at all.

That NASA guy was stupid to talk religion at work and pass out DVD's and such.
Politics and religion should not be discussed in the workplace.
Work is for work. period.

Total nonsense, wingy....

In "Injustice," Adams gives many examples of the necessity to trumpet Left wing politics to get ahead at the Department of Injustice.

Let me know if you need a few examples.

There was and may still be a movement by private physicians to engage patients in a discussion which began with asking if one had any firearms at home....

Several people I know were so engaged...different doctors, areas,...

Religious views, the same.

"You are not allowed to push your religious views on others..."

It happens all the time.
Adults know how to turn that gambit off...

...do you?

Remember the old days, when America had a first amendment, you know, "BL"...before Liberals.

Just loafing at the water coolers when I was still working.
I have the right to get a drink of water without being preached to.

It will come down to ignoring instructions not to discuss his religious beliefs. When I was a supervisor you would initially give a gentile reminder in private that discussions of religious beliefs are unacceptable. If he kept doing it, he would get a formal reprimand followed by dismissal if he continued doing it

The guy was only a team leader after 15 years, he obviously had difficulties throughout his career

the religious theme park in Northern KY which got govt tax breaks and such require a vow of faith to be hired there.
