You didn't build that, and now, you didn't earn that

Obama is the Luckiest Fumbduck on Planet Earth!

That's what is absolutely hilarious. I guarantee you that he doesn't think it was luck that got him through Harvard.

And it wasn't either.
If you're successful, you didn't earn that. You didn't build that.

Someone else made that happen.

It wasn't nothing (sic) you did.

We need to tell all of our young people this, to prepare them for the future!
.

Was he talking to you when he said that?
Nope!

He was talking to young people entering an incredibly competitive and challenging world, where feeling victimized and entitled will only make things even tougher!

Thanks for asking!

.

He told them many things in that speech. Including that he knows that they have worked hard. Did you miss that?

Dishonest hack.

Obama has revealed the reductio ad absurdum of eliminating markers of identity (cf. gender is a social construct). The Prog end game is to completely eliminate individuality. No individuals; no acknowledgement of individual accomplishment. All Good Things Flow from The Great & Powerful State.

Socialists love the idea of no individual differences. Same everything. Including haircut and clothing and...well....everything....

Nope!

He was talking to young people...

...who had the luxury of getting a college degree where many of their cohort don't.

In any case, he wasn't talking to you. Stop being the nosy old lady next door.

Obama, July 13, 2012:
I'm always struck by people who think, "wow, it must be because I was just so smart". There are a lot of smart people out there! "It must be because I worked harder than everybody else". Let me tell you something: There are a whole bunch of hard working people out there!

Obama, Howard University, May 7, 2016:

And that means we have to not only question the world as it is, and stand up for those African Americans who haven’t been so lucky -- because, yes, you've worked hard, but you've also been lucky. That's a pet peeve of mine: People who have been successful and don’t realize they've been lucky. That God may have blessed them; it wasn’t nothing (sic) you did.

It wasn't nothing (sic) you did. You didn't build that.

That's quite a message. That's our slogan now. America, 2016.
.

The president has never said that hard work and initiative aren't part of the equation. He never said that entrepreneurs did not build their businesses.

Mac has been lying about this for a long time. Someone who isn't on his iggy list should explain it to him again. He doesn't like hearing it, though.

I tend to agree. When Obama said: "You did not build that" he was referring to the road which gave access to the business that one built. Look up the speech and tell me I am not right.

He deserves the bashing he gets for being careless in his speech and relying mindlessly on teleprompter.

If he had only said: "You did not build that ROAD" none of the subsequent nonsense would have ever happened.

That kind of sloppiness is not becoming of a Rhodes scholar.

Okay, I'll stop posting my opinion on an internet political message board.

Looking forward to you telling everyone else that, too.

Someone else made that happen.

"That" being "..... this unbelievable American system that we have that allowed you to thrive. Somebody invested in roads and bridges.", not the business they created. As was pointed out a few sentences later, "The point is, is that when we succeed, we succeed because of our individual initiative, but also because we do things together. ".

What he ACTUALLY said was what I quoted, and:

"If you've got a business, you didn't build that. Somebody else made that happen."

He wasn't talking about roads then, he had moved on.

Twisting his words doesn't change them. Mine are direct quotes.

Except we don't do things together, almost half create nothing and expect the other half to fund them.

Hard work only gets you so far. If you have success in life it's because some mythical sky-wizard did it for you. Oh, and government. Can't forget government.

So when we expropriate your property and jack up your taxes, it's okay. We need it, you didn't earn it, and you should be properly grateful when we leave you something.

All hail the State. The State is life.

Without the government and regulation businesses and the middle class wouldn't exist.

You don't have the slightest fucking clue. USA.INC IS a business and a "for profit" venture and the biggest one going. You don't know shit.......seriously.

And with the help of government and overregulating businesses the middle class is being whittled away to nothing.

Thanks government!

Try corporate greed and you'll be correct.

USA.INC (your beloved "gubermint" personifies corporate greed. Composite "gubermint" is the largest shareholder of every Fortune 500 corporation and their subsidiaries...ever heard of the Comprehension Annual Financial Report that every corporation must file? Your beloved composite "gubermint" files around 185,000 of them a year. You can find them on the Dun and Bradstreet website......hell, even the Supreme Court is "incorporated". You don't have a fucking clue......
