Would a boycott be in order for McDonalds?

If you have a problem with anything feel free not to purchase it. Rather simple.

however

Fuck PETA and their bullshit.

You could eat them live, I suppose :eusa_whistle:

Also, since you mentioned McDonalds, despite the fact it says "chicken" on the menu, I'm not sure there is much in that meal that was ever an actual live chicken.

jes sayin'

OK it's not about stopping people from eating meat, at least with me it isn't it's about how these animals are killed.

I know what you're saying, Dude. Just blowing you some crap. It is too bad that animals are not always killed humanely for food.

Watch this. It might make you feel better (if you don't have flash enabled, don't bother)
Mad Cow Flash Object

If you are going to start letting PETA make your eating decisions you might as well be a vegan.

Especially when PETA are such flaming hypocrites.

Just because they are hypocrites does that take away from the video? I think the intent of the video was to make people aware of how some animals are slaughtered for food.

I'm not sure PETA is the most impartial judge here. I see chickens being treated inhumanely...but nothing that says they're destined to be McNuggets.

I'm curious, though...why can't the chickens just be decapitated?

Don't misunderstand my starting of this thread, I am not PETA freak I am a person that grew up killing animals for food. Isn't there a better way too kill an anmial for food then what is done in the video?

If you actually check with McDonald's you will see they impose requirements on their suppliers to use humane killing and less restrictive environments for their animals. In other words, McDonald's is already doing all it can to deal with the issues PETA wants them to address, which has resulted in slightly lower profits for them. They cannot prevent everything, but they do deal with the stuff they can. The only thing that will make PETA happy is if everyone stops eating meat, which is why I ignore their videos, even the ones with porn stars.

I don't go to McDonald's because I don't like their food. I could give a shit about how the chickens are killed. A dead chicken is a dead chicken. Just how much of it do you think the chicken understands or even cares about what is going on for that matter? Be real...

OK not a problem. I read this book called hardtack and coffee it's about the lives of union soldiers. In it there's a chapter of about how the troops were supplied. It talks about the cattle in which the union had great numbers. But anyway in that chapter this was what was mentioned.

"Such a heard got its living off the country in the summer. it was a sad sight to see these animals, which followed the army so patiently, sacrificed one after the other until but a half a dozen were left. When the numbers had been reduced to this extent, they seemed to realize the fate in store for them, and it often took the butcher some time before he could succeed in facing one long enough to shoot him. His aim was at the curl of the hair between the eyes, and they would avert their lowered heads when ever he raised his rifle, until at last, his quick eye brought them to the ground."

Animals do realize when something is about to happen to them.

They are decapitated on the conveyor line but some quite aren't so lucky. But I can't disagree with you on PETA and being partial.

The video said their throats are cut, then they bleed out.

I stand corrected. They aren't decapitated

Anytime. McDonald's actually started their PETA friendly policy in 04 or 05.

Sometimes change is good.

Much of the food industry is horrific. Almost every animal you eat is processed in terrible conditions.

That's just how it is. If you want to take a moral stand, eat only free-range.

As for me, I just ordered a 14 oz strip from The Outback.

I am a hunter with a heart most hunters are, thats why we aim for the heart. I hate to see an animal hurt, suffering or mistreated, even if it's meant to be eaten.
I hate cock fights, dog fights those live feed zoo's that sale admission to watch an animal being killed with no way of escaping. I think I would like to see the cock fighter's and dog fighters fight each other and watch the lions eat the people who pay to watch the zoo's live feed the caged animals.

I understand that the majority of Americans eat animals As a matter of fact I am a meat eater myself. But I think animals should be treated a little better then this even if they are for eating purposes.

The article says, "they have their throats cut while they are still conscious."

How would you suggest chickens be slaughtered.....quitely sneaking up on them whilst they are asleep?

This is only one example of the absurdity that PETA has become: For christssakes, killing and butchering animals on a scale that feeds 300 million+ Americans a day, ain't pretty. The fact that the video highlights multinational McDonalds Co only suggests they are part of the anti-globalist-loon community.

Interesting thing about chickens based on my personal experience.
If you wring their necks or chop their heads off they flop around for quite a while.
Shoot them in the chest with a .22 and they fall over dead in seconds.

Hence the saying:

Running around like a chicken with its head cut off.
