WINNING: Harvard Agrees To Return $8.7 BILLION COVID-19 Cash...Princeton Piles On in Shaming Harvard

One thing good that could come from this is maybe people will realize what a waste attending most colleges is. Get a job and take the courses online, save thousands on dorms and pass on all the SJW bullshit going on in those places. You can sign up for classes with decent professors that get paid by the student enrollment. No students no job. Shut off the tax payer funding and let them compete nation wide for students.
colleges do have their place. but i question that role they have today. it does seem more carry over because the last generation did it; not because of a need. the cost of getting that piece of paper is almost out of reach recovery wise to make 4+ years of debt and effort worth it.
Was there this much angst over school debt before Obama turned over the loan program to the federal government?....
Not sure where you are going. Is Obamas action what drove up debt?

how in the FUCK did harvard get 8.7 BILLION to give back???
They didn’t. The story is fake news.
Then what the holy fuck did they give back?

Can you stop being useless cow nipples and back up the shit you say?
They didn’t give anything back.

For starters, the OP said BILLION and really meant MILLION, a careless mistake. The CARES Act (hate that name) gives money to colleges and universities based on the size of their student body and their student body’s economic characteristics. It’s a formula that would aware Harvard $8.7 million. Now, Harvard hasn’t filled out any necessary paperwork to apply that money (which they would be entitled to by the bill) and has stated they won’t be doing so after criticism.

Harvard never asked for the money. They never applied for it. They never received it. They won’t be returning it.

This would have taken you a just few minutes to look up, but I’m happy to help regardless.

Oh, don't bother - you don't even try to support your uneducated, TDS-suffering opinions with links / facts.

"Harvard University will return $8.6 million it received from a coronavirus relief package that Congress passed last month after a public dispute with President Donald Trump and his administration."

Thats not true. The article is fake news.

“Harvard said on Wednesday that there had been a lot of “confusion” surrounding the emergency fund, and that the university “did not apply for this support, nor has it requested, received or accessed these funds.” Mr. Trump had criticized the university in response to a reporter’s question on Tuesday about a different relief fund meant for small businesses.”

Funny report from the NY king of TDS-suffering print media fake news, the NY Times.

So you are saying that out of the blue, without Pelosi and the Democrats ever talking to anyone at Harvard, Pelosi and the Democrats pack into a Corona-Virus Relief bill $8 BILLION dollars for Harvard...for what reason? Does that make any rational since to you? It doesn't to anyone else, which is why it makes the NY Times article and Harvard's statement, after 2 days earlier saying it would NOT return the money, look like horseshit.

Do you understand the difference between million and billion?

Read The NY Times article. It’s very informative.

'On Tuesday President Trump told reporters he was not happy about Harvard University received a federal coronavirus bailout. President Trump said he was going to ask them to give it back.'

Despite already having a $40 BILLION endowment, Harvard refused...at 1st.

'Today, they reversed their position. They’re giving back the money...and Princeton shamed Harvard, elegantly:'

#PrincetonU has determined it will not accept funding allocated under the CARES Act. Princeton has not yet received any of these funds, and never requested any of these funds. pic.twitter.com/En4nhqyqkc

Way to go, President Trump...and nice 'shot' Princeton! :p

That's not winning, it's bullying.

Then ones who will suffer are the students.

Edit:. I just realized it's from gateway pundit and therefore almost certainly a lie.

I've taken some great online courses from Harvard. Top shelf courses that I took for free that surpassed 95% of the courses I paid steeply for in my physical university, including MBA classes.
and...…..?

And...that's it. Harvard is nice.
I'm sure they are. They are also flush with cash and rob their students blind and take government money that they don't need.

Harvard gives free tuition to any student who’s family earns $65,000 or less.

I did...and you just ducked my questions....

Does it make ense that Pelosi and Democrats shoved into COVID-19 Relief legislation a lare sum of money going to Harvard...without a legitimate reason to do so .... without Pelosi or any Democrats having talked to anyone from or associated with Harvard 1st?

Does it make sense that the President would call out this money being placed in the bill and going to Harvard...where is Pelosi's and Schiff's oversight of COVID-19 money / funding?

Does it make sense that Harvard's official 1st reaction was to say they were not giving the money back....

...and then several days later say 'What money? We have nothing to do with it, aren't taking it'?

Is this - regurgitating the NY Times talking points / claims - what passes for snowflake common sense and 'thinking for yourself'?

That's not winning, it's bullying.
Asking Harvard to return COVID-19 Relief cash earmarked for Small Business is 'bullying'?

Then I am personally glad the President and Republicans are 'bullying' the Democrats by rejecting their attempts to pack COVID-19 Relief bills with bullshit spending, like funding for abortions, their Green New Deal, infrastructure, and govt expansion for election voting changes - things that have nothing to do with COVID-19/

All the answers to your questions are in The NY Times article.

You keep saying billions when all your links say millions. They’re only one letter apart so I wanted to let you know you’ve been misstating it repeatedly.

The CARES act has money for all universities and colleges based on a formula they wrote. The formula applies any school. Colleges and universities are as hard his as anyone else. Harvard’s share by the formula was $8.7 million. They were going to hand that money to their needy students.

Now that the president bullied them into refusing it, that won’t happen.

1. According to the article Harvard said they were going to take the money.....which you said they weren't...before you just said Trump 'bullied' them out of taking the money.

2. Harvard is sitting on a massive endowment....they had / have no need for the money. Good for Princeton to 'pile on' with their comment.

Harvard is sitting on a $40 billion dollar endowment....they had no need for the money. Good for Princeton to 'pile on' with their comment.

Well, it was $40 billion but who knows how much it is after the market lost so much. Their endowment is invested in equities after all.

They money was going to go to needy students. Not any more!

Of course not, the NY Times article states Harvard decided not to accept the money after Trump and other critics pressured them not to.:

"Harvard, which had previously said it would use all of the federal money to support students in need opted not to take it after two days of attacks by an array of critics, including Mr. Trump and several Republican congressmen, who said it was unseemly for the country’s richest university to take taxpayer money during a crisis that has left millions of Americans without jobs."

Waaaaaa...welcome to the world everyone else lives in, too.

The NY Times called Harvard 'the country’s richest university', and the critics' argument that the richest university in the country sitting on a $40 BILLION endowment should not be taking tax dollars in the midst of an economic crisis that is hitting Americans far worse is spot on!

Way to regurgitate what Harvard and the NY Times told you.

You also told me Harvard was never taking the money and they could not 'give back' something they never had while the story you linked said they were taking the money until they got lit up for planning to do so.
