Why truck drivers across the board will no longer vote GOP.

Any discussion of who will, or will not, vote for any candidate is silly at this point.

It's like a chess player listing what moves he will make before the game has even started. He may have a strategy, but the moves he make will depend on what the other fellow does.

At this point, we don't even know who the Democrat candidate will be.

However, hold to a blind belief that your side will emerge victorious without doubt, that strategy worked so well in the last Presidential Election.

The election is not until almost the end of next year. Making predictions now is silly.

Do you see that list? That’s a list of things that used to be deductible for truck drivers. But they’re no longer deductible under the Republicans “tax cuts for needy billionaires”.

I was watching a group of truck drivers be interviewed. One of them said that he used to not pay any taxes at all with all the deductions. But this past year he had to pay $8000 in taxes.

Because all of the deductions that they used to be able to get. They were deductions because they were things he was paying while he was working.

Corporations get that now when they apply for tax to ductions based on the age of their equipment.

When asked if they voted for Trump, most raised their hand. When they were ask if they’re going to vote for Trump in the next election, none of them raised their hand.

And there are truck drivers all across the United States. Everywhere. How many are going to vote for the man that raised their taxes by $8000?

I don't think they will ever stop hating Obama

Truckers to protest Obama on Beltway

Truckers to protest Obama on Beltway

"Independent Truckers of America are essentially operating on extremely low; and in most cases working below minimum wage, and all paying exorbitant fuel costs and fees," the group said on its website, RideForTheConstitution.org
Truckers were working below minimum wage? Well that sounds like the GOP plan. Don’t they want to get rid of the minimum-wage so they can pay people less? Are you sure you’ve thought this through?

Especially considering they’ll be paying more next year.

???? deanrd
The GOP/conservatives have faith that companies COMPETE
to provide better pay and benefits to ATTRACT and KEEP
the best workers.

That happens naturally through the free market.

I think you and other Liberals are talking about a DIFFERENT sector:
the people without equal access or enough experience
to compete with other workers that have this ability to SHOP for jobs.

So for THAT class of working people and students,
the CAMPUS system of setting up paid internships
to offset the cost of education and job training
should work so EVERYONE has equal access to opportunity.

But deanrd this structure should NOT be imposed on EVERYONE.
That's like taking the basic "minimum" structure of public schools
and forcing institutions of higher education to follow them.
Universities and colleges at higher levels should NOT be "micromanaged"
like schools that address the BASIC levels of education and training.

deanrd if we agree to SEPARATE these levels instead of trying
to treat them all the same, maybe we'd have better success
AGREEING WHICH POLICIES APPLY TO WHICH LEVELS.

I see nothing wrong with student internships in work-study
programs doing "entry level" work at 5-10 an hour if their
BENEFITS like HOUSING and HEALTH CARE ARE PAID FOR
through a campus cooperative.

This has nothing to do with HIGHER LEVEL jobs that ALREADY
have to compete to pay upwards of 15-20 an hour to keep employees.

What does it take to QUIT trying to push regulations on EVERYONE?
Not everyone is at the 6th grade level needing supervision to follow rules.

Why wouldn't organizing districts under CAMPUS style systems of
LOCALLY DEMOCRATICALLY ELECTED MANAGEMENT
allow for both
* supervised and regulated programs for THOSE WHO NEED IT
* tax breaks, deductions and refunds for INVESTORS to support
and build their own programs to mentor people to govern themselves
SO THEY DON'T NEED TO RELY ON GOVT TO MANAGE FOR THEM

Why can't we allow for BOTH approaches so EVERYONE is represented
and NOT FORCED under policies that don't apply to or work for them!

I know truck drivers that make $100,000 a year.

How are you going to pay for Medicare for all, if you give so many dedications that no one pays tax?
