Why Republicans who make under $20 an hour should support the UAW strikes

My uncle, and Dad worked at Ford motor company. My grandfather work for Bethlehem Steel. So many of our American ancestors black-and-white worked these very jobs that built the country we live in. Everyone knows that the Bridges, road signs, buildings we have we’re built by these types of workers. Including many women.

Well, there’s many working class Republicans making under $20 an hour some under $15 an hour all throughout America. They should know that we have a chance at bringing back industry in America like it used to be for perhaps 50 years or even 70 years. You used to get a job out high school making over $30 an hour …and you did not have to live like a slave in this country making $15 an hour. If we can get the right leaders in power, we can bring back American industry.

It’s always unfortunate to see a republican who makes under $20 an hour say that he is upset to see UAW workers, striking demanding better wages. We already live in a country with a horrible Joe Biden inflation economy. So therefore, people in industry deserve better wages. We’re not talking about McDonald’s workers. We’re not talking about Walmart workers. Those who work the UAW jobs work in industry that is vital to this country.

Simply remember that the UAW strikes of history involves working class white people who served in World War II who fought in the Vietnam war. There is all the reason in the world for working class Republicans to support the UAW strikes.

At the very least after 90 days on the job, somebody at ford deserves to be making over $30 an hour. That’s the wage they got adjusted for inflation for 50 years in this country. There’s no reason for it to not happen again. It’s only the corporations and some Chinese companies who are paying a garbage wage that want Republicans to be against the UAW.
Trump met non-striking, non-union workers today. He doesn’t seem to support union demands.

Those years were when foreign auto manufacturers, like Toyota, were not what they are now. Unions and Democrats have made profitable auto production virtually impossible here now that we have real foreign competition
Unions worked hand-in-hand with employees and employers successfully for 70 years. And so we can bring that back no matter where Toyota or Honda is at. Hell there’s even an argument to be made to do more to have the UAW work with Japanese auto companies. that’s some kind of a possibility perhaps. But it goes back to my original point.

It’s time for the American government, the unions, and the employers to figure something out.

You know back in the 1950s, 1960s there were some level of success in the foreign world. And yet Americans thrived.. keep in mind that the post World War II economic boom positively affected England. Yet America remained on top.

What Is The Starting Pay At Ford Motor?

The starting pay at Ford Motor is $37,000 per year, or $17.79 per hour.

😳

And those new hires are not going to make over $30 an hour after 90 days on the job like they used to for decades in this country…. back when they had equal pay for equal work with the 90 day probationary. Period.

Imagine that gut wrenching feeling American men and women, black and white are feeling knowing that they’re making such a low anti-American wage today when back in the 1950s they would’ve been set for life working one job for 30 years being able to afford to send their kids to college and go on nice vacations . That’s the American dream that the World War II generation fought for and that is the American dream that Americans deserve if they’re willing to put the work in.

Not only this but those new hires at Ford don’t get anywhere near the types of benefits that the employees with 20 years on the job do. Not only this but across the country Ford plants have closed down since the 1980s or they have severely downgraded their numbers of employees. Like in Buffalo New York, the Ford stamping plant had 5800 employees at one time now that number is under 1000. Something has to be figured out here and it’s going to take the government , employers and the unions to work together to figure out a way to bring back the American prosperity we had for 50 years in the 20th century.

People cannot say that unions brought down this country. It wouldn’t make sense because for decades in the 20th century unions worked together with employers and employees successfully. We had a great system where you could make a middle class wage out of high school or if you dropped out of high school. And if you wanted a little bit more or a chance to become a millionaire. Perhaps you took a chance in going to college maybe investing your money in a business or something which could fail, that’s how it should be today.

That's a real issue. America's carmakers are already not capable of competing. There's a suitable answer for capitalists and socialists alike

Everybody just pay attention!

Don't tamper with collective agreements that are legally backed by law and are in force. That's not freedom or the free market.

The solution is to cancel collective agreements that are in force and then the companies need to negotiate new ones, that are within their ability to honour. All collective agreements have an expiry date!

Japan, China, Russia, and most European carmakers have this situation under control and have already dealt with their unions' blowback.
Much of every industry we had from the golden union years from WW 2 to around 1970 has gone overseas. RCA, GE, and other huge electronic companies, the demise of steel industry, the reduction of the auto industry, a lot of specialty mass produced equipment, and more. Other nations are the ones building the great cities and embracing cutting-edge architecture. The follow on to the twin towers took over a decade to build. We would have built that within a year at our peak and most likely would look different. Then again getting involved in foreign entanglements helped to give onus to the attack if it was legit.

A place to start learning what is wrong with what you say is to read about Deming

I am not in the welfare business.

I have no desire to pay bloated union wages.

An auto factory line worker is not very much more skilled than a line worker at McDonalds.
Brother, somebody working at a steel or auto plant has to pass a mechanical aptitude test. They bring a lot more skills to the table than somebody working at McDonald’s. These are the very people who built our society.

Only a few unions made trouble during World War II. You can see in the video above the proof that the union worker was an Ardent supporter of the American World War II effort. The evidence is above, and in many other reports.

I’m only asking you to watch the first minute of the video. These are hard-working white and black people in huge numbers. Many of them would’ve voted Republican. And Donald Trump is the one saying we need to bring back American manufacturing.

Americans and Canadians got fat and lazy and unable to compete.

I don't care about them any more than they care about me.

They don't have any problem is running up the cost of an automobile that I have to shell out in order to have a vehicle to go to work to feed my family.

Like I said, I am not in the welfare business.

Besides, with a couple of truck exceptions those butt pirates produce shitty vehicles.

My Tundra made in Texas and my Pilot made in Alabama by non union workers are much better vehicles. The workers are not greedy cry babies like those UAW snots.

Besides, the money is not going to support the Democrat filth.

where's the link that's required to have a valid Thread?

A 46% pay increase and a 4 day work week. GTFO

"Our members are working 60, 70, even 80 hours a week just to make ends meet. That's not living. It's barely surviving and it needs to stop," Fain said last month on Facebook Live, explaining the demands of the union.

BLAME JOE BIDEN AND THE DEMOCRATS FOR INFLATON, DUMB FUCK. NOT THE BIG 3 COMPANIES.

I will never buy American again.
it's why business sent all manufacturing off shore. Demfks still don't get that. Right to work baby!!!!

The union demands are absurdly expensive. It’s not just that per hour wage issue. It’s the associated demands.

Coming, as it does, during a period of upheaval in the auto industry (seemingly converting from gas the EV products), it is going to be very difficult for one or more of the automakers to absorb the costs.

Then, when we all find out the true (massive) costs of converting the industry over to EV, there could easily be a foreseeable aftershock to the auto industry. And it could be cripplingly expensive.

Rather than helping the workers, this present union action could cost lots of workers their jobs.

To do what we want we must become pax americana again. We will pay more we also will be a strong foundation nation again. This time, quality is a must and a guarantee. Tariffs will be part of this along with protecting people unless they are bums.

It’s a workers themselves who want to get the wages that they used to get for decades on end.

I was speaking with a UAW retired worker at a diner. He’s probably 70 years old. He was saying that new hires at Ford start off at around $18 $20 an hour. Now that’s nothing near what they used to make 20 years ago adjusted for inflation they were making over $30 an hour after 90 days on the job

Now that’s one reasonable thing that Ford employees should get. Equal pay for equal work a 90 day probationary Period. Instead of the system that they have now where you got a wait eight years to be making around $27 an hour at Ford. That’s unimaginable. And they don’t have nearly the same benefits today that they had in the 60s the 70s the 1990s for decades on end.

To be fair American auto companies need to produce better cars better sedans that is. To be able to compete with Toyota and Honda.
It's all BS. They claim the CEO's got 40% raises so they want 40% raises. If CEO's got zero in raises would they be happy with zero in raises?

most likely what the CEO got was a bonus that was quite high. No fking way the CEO got 40%. I would need to see evidence of such a thing. That isn't public knowledge and that would suggest that all of the CEO's got 40%. Such lies to manipulate the populace. It just isn't true, anyone in here has the ability to prove me wrong.

I am supporting the UAW strike by voting against every democrat I can vote against. The democrat party is destroying union jobs with their worship of the green cult, their desire to help foreign countries over take the U.S. and their desire for eternal power........

So help the UAW, vote out the democrats.

Wouldn't be just better if the voted for Democrats?

The GOP is the party of the elites, just look at where they are getting their money and their actions in relation to workers...

The GOP are anti union because unions fight for workers...

PS. It was global inflation which US is doing better than averge. Why make a pretty reasonable post discredited with false propaganda..

This is not the humor section.

The democrats are the elite....the wealthiest members of our country vote for the democrats. The wealthy elites push the fake global warming agenda to increase their power, and that agenda is destroying union jobs.
