I am in college. Have been since last May. I think college is SEVERELY overpriced,and know for a fact people USED to be able to make a very nice life without it. My grandfather had an 8th grade education yet he managed to raise 4 kids,build 3 homes on his own, retired after 35 years with same company,when he died we sold the house and 35 acres for over 400k along with the 4 buildings on it. Today that wouldn't happen. Forces insure people can't live like that anymore. We try. We own 3.5 acres,have a garden and chickens etc...my wife is in college as well she graduates in December

Yea but remember since around 2000 American manufacturing corporations have been moving their operations overseas. So all those good paying blue collar middle class jobs are gone. Today there's Walmart. So you are correct that it's those blue collar workers fault that they didn't go to college or they weren't born with a natural talent that is valuable on the job market. But we used to care about these people. It was all those good paying (union) manufacturing jobs that created the huge middle class America enjoyed from 1950-2000. Those jobs really left in 2008 at like 750,000 jobs a month fled the country. So you blame the people who worked those jobs for the fact they now make Walmart wages? That seems a bit unfair. If our society only offers shitty paying blue collar jobs, what do you expect? Is it the workers fault? Is it Mexican workers fault that they only make $5 a day? I suppose ultimately it is but don't you agree Mexico's economy is not good for workers? Well American's economy isn't as good as it once was. Who's fault is that? The corporations who moved to Mexico for the cheap labor and the corporations who moved their HQ's to Ireland for the low taxes.
