We have had roasted turkey, ham and prime rib over the years, but turkey has always been the overwhelming favorite. We will be giving thanks with my daughter and her family this Thanksgiving and her husband is going to smoke a turkey on his grill. I am interested to see how it turns out.

Might be some white liebfrauenmilch wine for openers then delicious home made baba ghanouj with some tabbouleh salad on the side, finished with some baklava or portokalopita for desert! Yum.

For my family it has always been Turkey as a main dish, but I’ve been exposed to several others…

My hometown is largely of Sicilian descent and Lasagna was more of a staple for them on Thanksgiving.

The mother of one of my former roommates was allergic to poultry, so we would also have a Baked Ham.

My wife’s family is a Puerto Rican, and I’m definitely looking forward to the Penin (roasted pork shoulder) along with my Turkey on Thursday.
