Welfare recipients take out cash at strip clubs, liquor stores and X-rated shops

I'm fine with states baring ATMs at those locations, and many have.

Although it seems you've completely overlooked the possibility that strippers, and liquor store employees are using the closest ATM to their job to withdraw cash.

Do you know what strippers get paid? They wouldnt be on welfare

Yes, every stripper in every club makes more money than they know what to do with.

In aware strippers can and do make good money, especially depending on the community the club is located in. I'm also aware that many strippers, especially in small towns and more restrictive communities, can and are on assistance.

Lie huh?

Care to explain why CA made it illegal to use their welfare debit cards at casinos, strip clubs, etc.....oh you can't, idiot.

This is bullshit this lie has been spun before.

Good point. Millions were withdrawn from casino ATMs using EBT cards. We also know that EBT cards have been used for payment at tattoo parlors, nail salons and other locations that people shouldn't be in if they are really poor and concerned about feeding their children.

It is clear that many scammers are either getting way more than they need or they are neglecting their children and using the money for their own selfish purposes instead. Either way, not good.

We need to focus on clamping down on scammers and having penalties for those who take advantage of programs meant to help the poor.

You can't use the EBT card at a tattoo parlor. But I do love the fact that the proposed law in what New Jersey helped push that bullshit.
You can use the card at an ATM, bars and tattoo shops would never be set up to use the cards directly.
Plus there is the fact stupid people want to punish the majority who use the little they get to survive.

EXCLUSIVE: Welfare recipients using EBT cards to get cash at strip clubs, X-rated video stores and bars - NYPOST.com

They need a way to put this kinda crap to stop.. I sure dont want my tax dollars so these low life people can go to strip clubs..

We had a chance to stop this kind of crap during the Fiscal Cliff fiasco. The Dumbos in Congress and President Bonzo didn't want to hear it.

So, we'll just have to put up with this sort of shit for another 4 years at least.

Strippers gotta eat too

Funny thing is..even more of our tax dollars go to Corporate Executives engaging in very much the same behavior.

But they write it off as "entertainment".

:D

Post ain't going to do an "exclusive" on that.

Just today..

8 egregious expense report abuses- MSN Money

James Kwon: $4,537 at Treasures Strip Club
Eye-popping expense reports are nothing new. Law firms, for example, have had a storied reputation for racking up big bills for everything from first-class travel to photocopies. But lawyers aren't the only ones running up the tab.

In October 2012, Port of Oakland suspended its maritime director, James Kwon, alleging that four years earlier, he filed a $4,537 expense report for a drinks-and-dinner reception with clients at an establishment called D. Houston. It turns out that was the corporate name of Treasures, a Houston strip club. "The nature of the venue is not evident from the receipt," the Port of Oakland said in a statement. The port is taking measures to "ensure expenditures like this don't occur in the future," said Gilda Gonzales, the president of the Oakland Board of Port Commissioners. Kwon, meanwhile, announced his retirement from his post in December 2012 and has agreed to pay back the money.

The amount of tax dollars we spend so that executives can "entertain" their clients at strip clubs far exceeds the few bucks someone on welfare may drop at a club

More often than not, those strippers are immigrants, and the club owner gets most ofthe money they earn in tips and lap dances.

True, there is probably fraud going on... Which is simply resolved by restricting EBT Cards to only being used in places that sell groceries, no Cash withdrawls.

How would you know?
Not here. They are regulated by the cities and municipalities and they have strict rules on how the girls make their $$$. At $8 a beer club owners make a killing off of the alcohol.
The alcohol license keeps the owners in line.
But the mob runs your town and state, the unions look the other way and they take advantage of the girls there I am sure.
Same with every union state.

This is none of congress' business. It's a state issue, not a federal one.

Asswipe, shut the fuck up about poor people in the 40s being like scum today stealing millions in welfare on strip clubs, casinos, booze, etc.

Your lack of logic should get you banned here.....so all poor people like to steal money and blow it on strip clubs, casinos, etc......you are insane.

Uh what????

So you think the men that stormed the beaches in France during WWII are like scum like you using their welfare debit cards at strip clubs, casinos, bars????

You are fucked in the head....
Rumor has it that there were no welfare debit cards in the 40's but many of those who fought and died in WW2 were unemployed during the 1930's - the same unemployed you hold in such distain!

There is a litany that goes with the poor and poverty: they are lazy, drunk, won't work etc. That was a battle cry of many of those that had jobs during the Great Depression when speaking of the poor. It is a litany that goes back hundreds of years and sadly there are those that are lazy and so forth. But those lazy drunkards when offered jobs as defense spending increased went to work, went into the military, paid their taxes, raised families and became what we call, good citizens.
In fact, at one time there was a concept known as "utility of poverty", it was based on the premise that poverty was useful and helpful too many that were not poor and so it was a blessing to those with money.

Federal $$$ makes it Congress' business.

Not even the NY Post article claimed millions of welfare dollars were spent in these places.

They clearly said that out of 200,000,000 transactions, they only found "dozens" of such cases.

Dozens. Less than 100 out of 200,000,000.

That is not "millions were withdrawn". Not even close.

Federal $$$ makes it Congress' business.

No, it doesn't. Welfare programs are a state issue, which is why states have already handled the issue.

Obviously they haven't. And I too believe its a federal issue when tax dollars are used innapropriately. No argument will change my mind.

That's nice for you.

I know plently of people seem to be under the impression that taking money from the fed or from the state some how relinquishes a persons, or in this case, a states rights. As GB has mentioned Cal. has already changed ATMs at those locations, as have many other states.

I'm fine with states choosing to spend their money ensuring ATMs at select locations won't accept the ebt card. I'm not find with the fed trying to take that decision out of their hands.
