Pesky Republicans want to Ban EBT cards at Strip Clubs

Those Republicans say they're all about "personal freedom" yet they want to stop poor people from using their EBT cards at strip clubs, liquor stores, or casinos.

The money on Florida Electronic Benefits Transfer (EBT) cards is meant to help needy families cover rent and other basic living expenses.
But in a review of 30 months of EBT card withdrawals, which first aired in 2011, 9 Investigates uncovered almost 700 withdrawals at stores with either “beer” or “liquor” in the name.
There were 200 at stories with “tobacco” or “smoke” in the name. And 9 Investigates even found $60,000 withdrawn inside the Miccosukee Indian Casino near Miami.
Now, Orlando-area State Sen. Andy Gardiner has introduced a new ban that would prohibit EBT cards from being used in liquor stores, strip clubs, dog racing tracks, mega casinos, strip mall casinos and other gaming establishments.
First-time violators would be kicked out of the EBT card program for six months. With three violations, recipients would be barred permanently from the program.

I think if people use EBT cards at strip clubs or other frivilous places, they should have the amount they spend foolishly deducted from their monthly handout. Since when are tax payers required to foot the bill so people can have fun money on top of everything else?

They need to get rid of the cards. Have them come down to a local distributor and pick up their box of food for the week. You need clothes? Same thing,show up with proper paper work.
For whatever reason these people cant hold down a job. Why would you think handling money would be any different?
If people can get up and go to work everyday,I see no reason why they cant get on a bus once a week.
Dont make It to damn easy for em.

We're wasting billions of dollars daily on useless wars and overseas military bases. The fed is creating money we'll have to pay back and that our children and grandchildren will have to pay back.

Republicans, though, are concerned about poor people wasting paltry sums in search of pleasure.
