Virginia Attorney General: Obama Worse Than King George III…

No way is he any way comparable to George. George was a man of high morals and intelligence, something Barry 0 is not.

A good comparison is that George was a cool aid drinker of the latest fashions in economic theory. George also believed in royal prerogative. In those terms, the comparison might be worthwhile. As is the fact that George filled the administration with the likes of St. Germain and Viscount Sandwich. Guys who would be right at home in the 0bama cabinet.

Is it impossible for the leftwingers on this board to simply address the substance of what someone has said? Why do you always find it necessary to demonize the individuals rather than deal with the issues? Sheesh.. get beyond grade school please.

What he said was un-true. There are more examples beside. Americans are required to have insurance for cars. They are required to get licenses to start businesses.

And it's not like this guy is coming with critique that can be argued without engaging in angry hyperbole.

What he could have done was explain, why, in order to combat an out of control inefficient health care system, Obama taking up what essentially was a Republican plan..was bad.

Because most on the left wanted single payer..or Medicare for all.

The car insurance counter is a loser on its face.

Actually..no.

Monarchies are more in the realm of the right wing and conservatism.

You are obliged to buy insurance for the damage you might cause driving 2 tons of metal at high speed.

That is not the same as being obliged to buy a product you don't want or need for no other reason than to (in theory) reduce the product for someone else.

No.

You are required to have some form of insurance because the government can no longer afford to continue to provide free coverage to people in emergency rooms.

Hospitals do that, not government.

You are required to have insurance for your car IF you choose to drive. You are required a business license IF you choose to operate a business. And it is not that VA Attorney Generals JOB to combat an inefficient health care system. His job is to see to it that the citizens on Virginia are protected against this overreach of the federal government.

Yeah, pretty much, as (1) the state militia laws are currently non-existent for a reason, (2) in the short time when it was in existence, it applied to only half of the population (assuming male and females were equally split) and, (3) not all states had that requirement.

(Daily Caller)- Virginia’s fiery attorney general Ken Cuccinelli, who argued against the constitutionality of the health care law in federal court this week, has a new line: President Obama is worse than King George III, the English king in power when Americans declared independence in 1776.
Cuccinelli said Monday that at no other time in American history had a government forced citizens to purchase a product and gotten away with it, even the British King that sparked the American Revolution.
The Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act passed in April contains a provision that requires citizens to buy health insurance. Virginia’s lawsuit argues that the mandate is beyond the powers of the federal government, as defined in the Constitution. (A Massachusetts state measure, championed by former governor and Republican presidential candidate Mitt Romney, requires everyone in the state to have insurance.)
In 1774, the American colonists signed onto a document that notified King George III that Americans would boycott British goods until the so-called “Intolerable Acts” were lifted. Speaking like a history professor, Cuccinelli told the story of how American colonists boycotted British products in response to the Acts more than 200 years ago.
“The King’s own lawyer, his solicitor general, advised him that the boycott was legal under British law and that Americans could not be forced to buy British goods,” Cuccinelli said. “Yet in 2010 we have a Congress and a president that have enacted a law that compels Americans for the first time in history under the guise of regulating commerce, that they must buy a private product even when the King of England and the parliament that we rebelled against acknowledged that they should not have the authority to compel us to do that when we were their subjects.”
Rest here>>>

Bullseye!!! ;)
