From a buddy:

Marine Corps General Reinwald was interviewed on the radio the other day and you have to read his reply to the lady who interviewed him concerning guns and children. Regardless of how you feel about gun laws you got to love this! This is one of the best comeback lines of all time. It is a portion of a National Public Radio (NPR) interview between a female broadcaster and US Marine Corps General Reinwald who was about to sponsor a Boy Scout Troop visiting his military installation.

FEMALE INTERVIEWER: So, General Reinwald, what things are you going to teach these young boys when they visit your base?

GENERAL REINWALD: We're going to teach them climbing, canoeing, archery and shooting.

FEMALE INTERVIEWER: Shooting! That's a bit irresponsible, isn't it?

GENERAL REINWALD: I don't see why, they'll be properly supervised on the rifle range.

FEMALE INTERVIEWER: Don't you admit that this is a terribly dangerous activity to be teaching children?

GENERAL REINWALD: I don't see how. We will be teaching them proper rifle discipline before they even touch a firearm.

FEMALE INTERVIEWER: But you're equipping them to become violent killers...

GENERAL REINWALD: Well, you're equipped to be a prostitute, but you're not one, are you?

He's equipped to be a prostitute too.

just sayin

And I agree, aside from the fact that I don't have a problem with teaching riflery or archery, his comment was a wee bit crass.

I thought the reporter's comments were stupid, if true, but certainly not deserving of a crass sexual comment. Conduct unbecoming of an officer, and all that. Hopefully the story isn't true, I hate seeing the military portrayed as idiots.

Didn't seem to mind the whole democrats party being portrayed as sexist a-holes during the election though, now did you..

I heard it several years ago also. Very few generals today get there by being this open and non politically correct.:eusa_whistle:

I hope it IS true. Her comment deserves just such a remark. You want to take offense at a sexist comment but who gives a fuck about how Marines feel about being labelled killers by moron leftwingnut media hacks? Right?

Pathetic.

And as you pointed out, HE is just as equipped to be a prostitute. So DO please explain how the remark is sexist ....
