“The Super PACs are outspending the candidate committees two to one at this point in time,” Cable said. “The ones that are buying the most [air time] are going to have the biggest impact. You know, just like in the world of business and advertising, politics goes the same way. Those that spend the most have the biggest impact.”

I realize that the USSC ruled on this and it is perfectly legal, but is this REALLY beneificial to us citizens? We already know that the US has the best health care money can buy, but do we really want the best Federal government money can buy too?

The right wing Scotus was doing what they were picked to do.

To help enforce Grover Norquists drowning of this nation.

I disagree with you. The implications of the SuperPACs are being felt by the GOP and their voters. Right, wrong or indifferent....

Its the part they didnt think of.

It wont matter because much of the Norquist plan was never thought through.

The people who came up with the plan are not as bright as they think they are.

It was all part of the Rove permanent majority plan.

Right wing Scotus appointments, DOJ corrupting, demonizing ACORN, ID voter laws, gerrymandering and wars for oil to distract the people.

The right leaning power in this country wants everything handed over to the corporations.

That is the plan

You can thank that dip shit RINO McLame and his liberal dough head counter part Feingold for Super Pacs. It's all from the Campaign Finance Reform bill. Just one more thing that needs to be repealed because it's GARBAGE.

obama wants a billion dollars for his reelection campaign.

It isn't that superpacs donate to Republican campaigns, it's that ANY money at all is donated to Republican candidates.

It is as I always say. If a person votes for someone based on what they saw in a misinformational TV ad, they deserve to be lied to, and get the government that's coming to them.

I swear. Some people put more thought into what deodorant they use than what leaders they choose.

Don't blame the Super-PACs for that problem.

Look in the mirror. There's your problem.

squawk! Romney's a capitalist pig...Romney's a capitalist pig squawk!

squawk! Obama's a socialist...Obama's a socialist squawk!

squawk! death panels...death panels squawk!

squawk! one man, one woman...one man, one woman squawk!

squawk! one percent...one percent squawk!

squawk! tax the rich...tax the rich squawk!

This isnt a partisan issue, Hacky McHack

I watched McCain-Feingold from the day it was hatched to the day it was passed. I watched it get hacked up, amended, rewritten, and stacked. And when it passed, I made a prediction on a board I used to frequent many years go that we would see a flotilla of 527 groups launched.

Here is an interesting exercise you can do. Look up the re-election rate of incumbents who run for re-election going back to 1970.

Then look up how many "campaign finance reform" acts and court decsions there have been in the same period.

You will discover an amazing thing. No law, no court decision, has any effect on the re-election rate of incumbents who run for re-election whatsoever.

None. Zip. Zilch. Zero.

So give it up already. Stop fucking with the First Amendment.

Funny, I would think that most people would think changing politics is a good thing. Why does enabling people to speak up in things they believe scare you so much?

Did you see Romney pull the ol "Hey those are Super PACs...not me" routine. This SuperPAC idea is bad for all of us. All a canidate needs is a sugar daddy and the sugar daddy can make any lie they want to influence elections.

Stephen Colbert shows you how it's done. Uses a SuperPAC to call Mitt Romney a seriel killer. Fair?

If it is him he is breaking the law, feel free to point it out to the federal prosecutor so they can bring charges.

That's why we need an amendment to institute public financing of elections. They'll NEVER listen to us, unless we're the ones footing the bill.

You have no problem with SuperPACs or are you more comfortable sitting on the fence?

I have no problem with SuperPACs. You are free to donate to whichever one you like.

SEIU, NRA, Capitalist Ass-Rapers of America, Commies For Fags, Nazis For Paul. Whatever.

And you are free to drink whatever bongwater any of them pours into your face.

Or not.

You are also free to think for yourself.

Free! Freeeeeeeeeeeeee...!

So what do you think about things like Move on.org who is clearly left wing and has ads a lot of ads against the REP party. Do you want those to end too??

Did you read my posts in this thread? If you think that is sitting on the fence I have a nice bridge that I need to unload, cheap.

I hear Obama will have upwards of a billion dollars for his campaign, not sure if that includes HIS Super PACs. So, sorry if I'd don't shed a tear for either side. Would love to see a good campaign finance law passed though, not the bullshit that the dems tried to get through. I wrote a thread on it, even.
