They do not hate western culture or western people. They do hate Western policy (especially policy of discrimination, abuse and genocide of Russians). Actually, the Russians successfully launch their new missiles at "new ballistic trajectories " (counterforce attack by suppressed ballistic trajectories), and Trident II failed second launch in row (some say because of the aging of solid fuel).

Trident is solid fueled so it's pretty stable over time. Liquid fuel is an accident waiting to happen and not nearly as reliable.
