Two Words: Nuclear Option

Scott Brown explicitly made the health care bill the centerpiece of his campaign. And he went from down 30 points to winning because of it.
Get a clue.

Scott Brown made a curling iron the centerpiece of his campaign.

Get your head out of Sean Hannity's ass.

yeah, you're right.
The Dems lost in MA (and NJ. And VA) because the candidates in each place sucked. Obama campaigning with them didnt help because he did it at the last minute. The problem is the Dems aren't radical enough because we know Americans love radical change. Heck we fought the British for it.
The Dems need to chuck all this democratic process bullshit and do what they were elected to do: pass far ranging socialist legislation on narrow party line votes with generous bribes for non-conforming members thrown in.
Yeah, that's the ticket. Yeah. Yeah.

Ya know. I think I wouldn't be so quick to admit I was beaten by a curling iron.

I'm just sayin.....

No, no, YOU'RE right, the Democrats have no supporters. They won in November based on a total fluke.

Of course, I should have thought of the fact that what the Democrats should actually do is let the Republicans block every single legislation that gets brought up. Thanks so much for pointing out what should have been an obvious truth.

That way the obstructionist Republicans can point out the fact that the Democrats got nothing done while they were in office.

Two words (sorta): GOP landslide

I don't think so. I think that today's voters appreciate strength of character more than anything else, and abhor weakness.

I think the Democrats should just put the Nuclear Option through. Don't even debate it. Just make it happen.

You would be dead wrong, and there are enough democrats that wouldn't allow that to happen. It's political suicide, and they know it, and want a career in politics.

two words:

really stupid
Political suicide really.

almost every dem has called for the process to wait until brown is seated before they continue.

i guess they want to be reelected or something.
Only a damn fool ideologue would call for the 'nuclear option' to pass incredibly unpopular legislation right after a major political defeat.

Most Dems are not going to throw away their careers to satisfy lunatics and barry worshipers, thus they now realize if they want to pass something, they better start doing it correctly, no 'deals' or bribes and BOTH parties must have real input.

The nuclear option won't work, because many Dem senators won't go along with it. Based on their comments this morning, you woulfd have thought Webb and Bayh were about to switch parties.

Or they're a bunch of pussies that get scared continuously by their own shadows.

Republicans have done NOTHING but say "No" since Obama took office.

Democrats really need to grow a set of balls and do SOMETHING, or their supporters, like me, will abandon them, and then they'll definitely be fucked.

They'd only need 51 votes to get the Nuclear option, and then 51 votes to pass legislation afterwards.

yeah, the support of you and the three other wingnuts who think like you is crucial.

keep telling yourself that.

they have lately, and with all the garbage coming out of the White House, I hope they go from being the party of "no" to the party of "no way in Hell"

now when W was president, they passed all kinds of socialist nonsense like Medicare Drug and No Child Left Behind, you big government liberals should really love what you got from Bush and his GOP Congress, they spent far more liberally than Clinton did

They really have 4 now?

I think not!

Liberals are the fund raisers, the activists, the bloggers, and the heart of the Democratic party.

If we decide to stand back and do nothing to help Democrats because we're DISGUSTED with them, you can be damn sure they'll lose come November.

It wasn't a single election. This is now three elections since '09 that the GOP has won against all predictions: VA governor, NJ governor and now MA senator.
But please, drink the kool aid. Push for even stronger measures from your Dem reps. I'd love to see the ass whupping they'll take in Nov for that.

Governors are not national elections, by any stretch of the imagination, and certainly Health Care legislation was not even a tiny issue in either of those elections.

The only other national election that had anything to do with health care was New York's 23rd, where Republicans got their asses handed to them for the first time in a hundred years.

You need an education? Now you sound like you don't know what your talking about. Asses handed to them? Go look how close that election ended up. Obama has campaigned for 3 candidates, those 3 candidate ALL LOST!

Wow, you guys are really worried about this. I'm going to call my senators right now. Thanks for the sounding board.

Um.. Democrats didnt win in November.

Republicans havent had any power to block any legislation. You've had a freakin super majority.
