Since civics was taken out of schools, you now have a generation of people that do not know how government works. Its now to the point where the power is at the state and local government. The president is nothing more than a figure head.

State and local government is where people's attention should be first. Media and politicians today have dumb down the america people through no civics to think who's the president is the key.

We can all lay the guilt on federal interference and the proliferation Progressive and Marxist instructors such as Cloward, Pivin, Church, Ayers and so many others that have retired or are now teaching in our schools from Pre-K to Universities.
Like roaches and/or ticks they're embedded in almost every school in the nation.
To the subject of Civics, the pupils and students of nearly two generations cannot identify our 20th Century presidents much less our 19 Century presidents.

Well, you are wrong and you're right. The president does still have a lot of power, influence, and a key decision maker for the country. But, at the local level, usually not so much. If listening to partisans, you might think he had more and was responsible for more. I can't see it in most cases.

If people want a difference in their lives, you are ball accurate, that state and local government is where people should focus attention first.
