There Will Not Be A Palestinian State

Yes, I've seen suggestions along this "aid agency" before.

The UNRWA has reintegrated, repatriated, and/or resettled almost no Arab Palestinian Refugees in it 70 years of operation.
The UNRWA is an aid agency only. It has no authority to integrate or repatriate refugees.

5. Recognizes that, without prejudice to the provisions of paragraph 11 of General Assembly resolution 194 (III) of 11 December 1948, continued assistance for the relief of the Palestine refugees is necessary to prevent conditions of starvation and distress among them and to further conditions of peace and stability, and that constructive measures should be undertaken at an early date with a view to the termination of international assistance for relief;

20. Directs the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees in the Near East to consult with the United Nations Conciliation Commission for Palestine in the best interests of their respective tasks, with particular reference to paragraph 11 of General Assembly resolution 194 (III) of 11 December 1948;

11. Instructs the Conciliation Commission to facilitate the repatriation, resettlement and economic and social rehabilitation of the refugees and the payment of compensation, and to maintain close relations with the Director of the United Nations Relief for Palestine Refugees and, through him →, with the appropriate organs and agencies of the United Nations;
(COMMENT)

First, you will notice that the UNRWA never uses the excuse that it is not their job (only an Aid Agency). From the establishment of the various institution, commissions and activites the inception was to alleviate an acute potential for starvation. It was not to support the distant relatives of the displaced in perpetuity. The Arab Palestinians have painted themselves into a corner. The Arab Palestinians have intentionally set the conditions to lose their Jordanian Citizenship and retard (if not halt) conditions of peace and stability with the UNRWA doing nothing to reverse the trend. In seventy year the UNRWA has not been able to contribute any constructive measures to further the situation with a view to the termination of international assistance for relief.

Many outside observers hold the attitude that the UNRWA, which employs 30,000 staff, and which ≈ 90% of those staff positions are local hire (ie Palestinians) is to milk the system for all it is worth.

Which Palestinians have moved back home and have caused problems?

The ones who are still there are causing problems. There is absolutely no indication that "live at peace with your neighbor" is the goal of the Arab Palestinians. Quite the opposite.

RE: There Will Not Be A Palestinian State
⁜→ Hollie, P F Tinmore, et al,

SOURCE: In the words of Lt. Gen. Alexander Galloway, then the director of UNRWA in Jordan, in 1952:

It is perfectly clear that Arab nations do not want to solve the Arab refugee problem. They want to keep it as an open sore, as an affront against the United Nations and as a weapon against Israel. Arab leaders don’t give a damn whether the refugees live or die.

Did I stutter?

And mumble. Yes. You did.

You sweeping miss the point that the past history of those negotiating on behalf of the Arabs-Moslems have been the dictators of the mini-caliphates (welfare fraud syndicates) that have made them incredibly wealthy. Arafat and Abbas were / are the very people who have an interest in maintaining the UNRWA welfare fraud. They get wealthier with each welfare fraud paycheck they get from the international community.

UNRWA has become little more than an endowment to each succeeding Islamic terrorist dictator who control the welfare money. There has simply been no rational reason for the Islamic terrorist dictators to accept the responsibility of managing a working government when they are showered with kuffar cash they can stuff into foreign banks.
UNRWA has become little more than an endowment to each succeeding Islamic terrorist dictator who control the welfare money.
UNRWA does not hand cash.

It’s a bloated Islamic terrorist welfare fraud scheme.
(COMMENT)

In the beginning, the concept of the UNRWA was an honorable venture. But in the seven decades since its inception, it has the expanded its mission beyond its original goals, often with no corresponding success. Some people refer to this as Mission Creep.

  • 1948 Palestinian exodus: 711,000 (estimated)
  • 1950 ≈ 750,000 Palestine refugees
  • 1948 refugees still alive (2012): 30,000 to 50,000 (estimated)
    • In 2018, life expectancy at birth for Palestine was 73.82 years. Life expectancy at birth of Palestine increased from 73.3 years in 2015 to 73.82 years in 2018 growing at an average annual rate of 0.24 %.
    • Year 2018 - Year 1948 = 70 years
  • Descendants (2012): 4,950,000 (estimated)
There are nearly (≈) 100 times as many descendants today as there are living refugees “persons whose normal place of residence was Palestine during the period 1 June 1946 to 15 May 1948, and who lost both home and means of livelihood as a result of the 1948 conflict.”

This is the biggest scam in the Refugee Program that could ever be imagined. There is no question that our friend "Hollie" is correct.

The United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees in the Near East (UNRWA), as opposed to The Office of the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR), has lost nearly all its credibility. The UNRWA has reintegrated, repatriated, and/or resettled almost no Arab Palestinian Refugees in it 70 years of operation. "During its lifetime, the UNHCR has helped 50(+) million refugees to successfully restart their lives."

The difference between the outcomes of the two agencies is so different, as to make any comparison impossible. The UNRWA has been totally unsuccessful.

Most Respectfully,
R

Try equality. That might work.

Mention that to Abbas after you ask him about the "no Israeli in Pal'istan" comment but before he writes a welfare check to a "martyr" who just murdered an israeli.

Mentoring the Arab Palestinians on the methodology and practices that further → refugees wishing to return to their homes and live at peace with their neighbors.

But I suspect that trying to teach the Arab Palestinians pest practices that would maintain peace and stability is too much to ask. I suspect that the ingrained application (over the last half-century) demonstrates that the Arab Palestinians have a preference for armed struggle, as the only way to liberate Palestine.

Well... It is important to remember the law of ineffectiveness (not producing an intended effect; ineffectual).

But the Arab Palestinian should remember that in finding excuses to not engage in activities that further peace and stability in the region, just prolongs the illness that is → "Palestinian."
What would you suggest that would work?

You have a brand new car. Someone comes along with a big 12 oz. Drywall Hammer and puts a huge dent in the fender. You have to make a decision as to cost-effectively remedy. One or two dents in the fender might be worth a body & Fender "repair." But there reaches a point (the number of dents) when the fender becomes uneconomically repairable and the fender must be discarded in favor of an entirely new fender to restore it to new car condition.

Some populations (and the associated countries, regions, areas, and territories) must, when politically damaged beyond repair, must undergo a similar assessment. Do you attempt to repair them through nation-building processes; → or → do you section out the damage and replace it altogether (regime change)?

In most Arab Countries, regime changes and changes in government do not happen without shedding blood (popular uprising, revolts, coup d'état). Just looking at the countries that participated in either the 1948 attack on Israel, the 1967-Six Day War, or the 1973 Yom Kipper War:

• (1949) Military coup d'état in Syria
• (1952) Military coup d'état in Egypt
(1959) Failed coup d'état attempt in Iraq
• (1963) Military coup d'état in Syria
(1963) Military coup d'état in Iraq
• (1966) Failed coup d'état attempt in Saudi Arabia
• (1968) Military coup d'état in Iraq
• (1969) Failed coup d'état attempt in Saudi Arabia
• (1970) Military coup d'état in Syria
• (1970) Terrorist Coup attemt in Jordan
• (1996) Failed coup d'état attempt in Iraq
* (2018) Yemeni coup d'état

Sometimes, the people are just coup d'état prone...

Not to mention the US coup in Palestine in 2007.
