The Palestinians have always refused any accommodation that would allow them to live in peace with the Jews of Israel. Hell, even their RELIGION forbids equal coexistence. The Jews could live there but only in dhimmitude. That's why Jews lived in Palestine for hundreds of years "in peace". They paid for "protection" by way of the Jizyah tax. As soon as they demanded freedom from that and to be seen as equals, the Arab Muslims anted to destroy them.
