I support equal rights for gay people. However, I could do without the make out scenes with two men. Sorry, but yes it is icky and it is disgusting and evokes a gut reaction of disgust for most heterosexuals because it is NOT normal. Nobody except other gay people WANTS to see two guys making it. Frankly, I don't want to see two straight people making out under most circumstances.

But sometimes it's necessary to tell the story, which should be the point of fiction.

Oh, come on! It isn't necessary. When was the last time you saw any of the straight people making out on TWD? It is kind of like they want to portray sexual preferences . . . why? Why is that important? Why do people have to know that? You know, heterosexuals don't have to make it a point that they are heterosexual. That is what is most annoying to straight people about gay people I think. You MUST know they are gay. If it comes up, then whatevs, but don't make it a point. It's like, whenever there is a gay couple on television, they have to be touching each other, rubbing each other, kissing on each other . . .

What I think is that they are trying to desensitize straight people to gay sex or something, so that we get used to it and don't find it so icky anymore. I don't think that will work though. Like it or not, we DO have gender role based society and most people expect men to be manly, and that could be one reason why heterosexuals find it so disturbing to see two men kissing and rubbing on each other.

Actually, its not "normal" for us heteros but its very normal for gays.

Personally, I don't much care either way and its not up to me to decide what is "normal" for others.

There are a few shows that I stopped watching because it went gay. The Originals and The 100. Both had shaky ratings and may have gone gay in a last gasp.

Scandal and How to Get Away With Murder went really gay and aren't doing well. I never watched them because I just can't get interested in black shows.

Im a HUGE fan of this show. But I didnt read the comic. Were the gay guys part of the original comic?

I dont care much either way. But...if they were in the comic then fine. If not...I agree..why inject it just for politics?

I mentioned on TWD thread that homosexuality would not be practical at all in such a scenario because they are not going to repopulate the world. I also have to wonder how many of them would even survive. Relatively speaking, there are not that many gay people to begin with.

Well...would any sex be encouraged? A pregnant woman would require medical supplies and she'd be much slower. Could be a liability in that world. And then...a baby to care for like the group has now.
