The Paris Agreement

the only thing though is we need accountability......if you figure out how to do that ,we have a deal

Cronyism is a serious problem in this country. I'm not exactly sure what the solution to that is, but I'm willing to work with what we've got to see solar and other technology develop more quickly.
Yeah it's gonna be hard, the Solyndra fiasco really made people not like the govt using money....aka giving cash to campaign funders.
That's why the accountable part is so important and tricky. If you solve that, it's easy, if not, most wont go for it.

Why do you need to "expedite" technology that is NOT YET PROFITABLE?

It shows a lot of potential and could really help humanity.
How does wasting resources propping up failed business models "really help humanity"?

No, but research and development money helps a lot and creates incentive to get involved in it.
They don't need any "incentives" from government , they have plenty of incentives relative to sustainable business models and future profitability.

Research and development will make the alternatives competitive more quickly.
Private enterprise is already doing massive amounts of R&D, those that do it the best will win, those that don't will die, putting government hand outs into the mix just results in "He who can buy the most congress critters wins" instead of "He who builds a better mouse trap wins".

"When you see that trading is done, not by consent, but by compulsion - when you see that in order to produce, you need to obtain permission from men who produce nothing - when you see that money is flowing to those who deal, not in goods, but in favors - when you see that men get richer by graft and by pull than by work, and your laws don't protect you against them, but protect them against you - when you see corruption being rewarded and honesty becoming a self-sacrifice - you may know that your society is doomed." -- Ayn Rand, Atlas Shrugged.
