The most dangerous extremists among us

Right-Wing Extremists Are a Bigger Threat to America Than ISIS

They and untold thousands like them are the extremists who hide among us, the right-wing militants who, since 2002, have killed more people in the United States than jihadis have. In that time, according to New America, a Washington think tank, Islamists launched nine attacks that murdered 45, while the right-wing extremists struck 18 times, leaving 48 dead. These Americans thrive on hate and conspiracy theories, many fed to them by politicians and commentators who blithely blather about government concentration camps and impending martial law and plans to seize guns and other dystopian gibberish, apparently unaware there are people listening who don’t know it’s all lies. These extremists turn to violence—against minorities, non-Christians, abortion providers, government officials—in what they believe is a fight to save America. And that potential for violence is escalating every day.

reported this past June, based on surveys of 382 law enforcement groups.

The problem is getting worse, although few outside of law enforcement know it. Multiple confidential sources notified the FBI last year that militia members have been conducting surveillance on Muslim schools, community centers and mosques in nine states for what one informant described as “operational purposes.” Informants also notified federal law enforcement that Mississippi militia extremists discussed kidnapping and beheading a Muslim, then posting a video of the decapitation on the Internet. The FBI also learned that right-wing extremists have created bogus law enforcement and diplomatic identifications, not because these radicals want to pretend to be police and ambassadors, but because they believe they hold those positions in a government they have created within the United States.

The unusual—and often daffy—world view of some right-wing extremists was on daily display during the January armed takeover of federal facilities at the Malheur National Wildlife Refuge in Oregon. Expressing dismay that two ranchers convicted of arson were ordered to serve out the remainder of their mandatory minimum prison sentences, members of various militia groups occupied a building at the wildlife refuge, declaring their willingness to fight the government and, if necessary, die for their cause. They proclaimed that the federal government was tyrannical, that the Constitution is under siege.

Barring another 9-11 type attack, you are far more likely to be killed by a right wing extremist than an Islamic extremist. That is the current state of affairs in the US.

Orlando and San Bernadino alone were 63 killed so you're full of shit, as usual. And why conveniently leave out 9/11? Libs love to pretend it just never happened.
On bushs watch. Obama kept us safe. Will trump?

Obama did not "keep us safe". Numerous attacks by Muslims happened, not to mention his creation of ISIS and destabilizing the entire Middle East, and creating the refugee crisis which Europe is still reeling from.

You don't understand the leftist mindset, unless the attack is on the same scale as 911 it doesn't count.
We will count how many happen because of twitler

You're just blabbering to blabber, you have no valid points. Good day

Of course the far right, alt right, and libertarians are far dangerous here than ISIS.
Apparently anything you or I say isn't credible. Nothing liberal progressive or factual can be used
The far right and Trump crazies are . . . crazy.

They foolishly think they are charge. :)

If ever they rise up, the LEO and military will crush them in a night.

"Baring another 9-11 attack" (by Muslims), then there is a weak bad white conservative neonazi fascists threat. Do I sense someone trying to shift the focus here? Why not worry about the predominate threat and leave fear of a attacks by giant white marshmallow men to ghost busters?

Oh its not a class thing darling. Not a chance. Now granted I despise rich assholes because they are snobs and stuck up but I will always prefer white rich people to non whites and traitors of any race.
The National Socialist State recognizes no ‘classes’. But, under the political aspect, it recognizes only citizens with absolutely equal rights and equal obligations corresponding thereto.

The most dangerous far right extremist is the Canuck, Ted Cruz.

And the most dangerous from the far left is Bernie Sanders.

I wonder where the OP went considering his article was proven to be a fabrication on page one…

The labels are rather asinine anyway. “Right wing” extremism covers a massive swath of extremists and really does not have any connection with the national political movement. There is also a massive amount of police force used in identifying and stopping it. Dealing with that extremism has no bearing on or relation to dealing with Islamic extremism.
