He does not consider himself part of the mainstream media, and technically, he is not part of the news media. He has a news opinion/editorial show. He does not report the news.

Doesn't "they" seem a lot easier than "the leftwing-biased mainstream media" to say each time?

OReilly, Mattews, Oberland et al are NOT journalists. they are basically op Eds on TV where they are free to let their personal opinions color their commentary.
