How come there's no hue and cry from the MSM or from the lefties about the rich democrats? Kennedy was richer than God, would they say he was a bad president? They have no trouble bitching about Romney's wealth, as though that has anything to do with being a good president.

    snippet:

Mr. Romney is being criticized in the mainstream media for having paid just about 14 percent of his income in federal income taxes and having some of his money in places like Switzerland and Cayman (even though he appears to have paid all of the taxes on interest and dividends that were due to the United States). Yet, eight years ago, when the far richer Mr. Kerry and his wife paid a slightly lower tax rate and also had their money dispersed globally, as sensible rich people do, they were lauded by many of the same folks who are now in a tizzy about Mr. Romney's finances. Note: Mr. Kerry's wife inherited her money, while Mr. Romney earned his by building real businesses.

Rich people usually employ others to manage their money. Presidents and presidential candidates put their money in blind trusts, as have Mr. Romney and Mr. Obama. When people hire money managers, they expect them to make the highest after-tax returns commensurate with the level of safety those people desire, and the managers have a fiduciary responsibility to do so. Diversification, by type of investment (stock, bonds and real estate) and by geography, is considered prudent financial management.

hey...there's hypocrisy on the right too....Freedom!!!! unless your gay, want to end a pregnancy, like porn, beloved in social programs, think that people who work full time should have family sustaining wages.....if you fall into any of those categories? Then you are not free to speak your mind.

Maybe you should start a thread about it. Not everyone on the right is against gay rights or is pro life. And very few are for porn, that's more of a issue with the left. And not many righties are for a living wage law either, no hypocrisy there.

Who said anyone was differentiating between Reps from Dems? If a dem is only paying 13% while making billions, yet I am paying 25% (and getting no richie loopholes & tax shelters) while making under 100K, it's still wrong.

Apparently the left is supposed to talk about the 1960 or the 2004 election.

There is legal and then there is presidential. Protecting your assets with overseas accounts while trying to portray yourself as a man of the people is ringing hollow.

Yeah, but it's different when it's a republican vs a democrat. I recall Obama back in 2008 trying to make a big deal out of how many homes McCain owned. And I also recall the GOP making a big deal out of Kerry's wealth too. Sucked then and it sucks now.

There is a difference between income tax and capital gains tax.
When you make your money yearly, you pay the full income tax and when you invest that money in stocks you are paying capital gains tax.
If you invested in stocks you too would be paying 13 %.

So start banging the drum for your Representative and Senator to get bills going to change the tax code. Until then, nothing wrong with anyone obeying it and paying what it requires them to.
