The Hypocrisy of the Left

hey...there's hypocrisy on the right too....Freedom!!!! unless your gay, want to end a pregnancy, like porn, beloved in social programs, think that people who work full time should have family sustaining wages.....if you fall into any of those categories? Then you are not free to speak your mind.

Maybe you should start a thread about it. Not everyone on the right is against gay rights or is pro life. And very few are for porn, that's more of a issue with the left. And not many righties are for a living wage law either, no hypocrisy there.

You're right.

- pubs and pots and rw's are more than willing to throw the First Amendment in the trash because they're goal is to control every move that every American makes.

Who said anyone was differentiating between Reps from Dems? If a dem is only paying 13% while making billions, yet I am paying 25% (and getting no richie loopholes & tax shelters) while making under 100K, it's still wrong.

Apparently the left is supposed to talk about the 1960 or the 2004 election.

There is legal and then there is presidential. Protecting your assets with overseas accounts while trying to portray yourself as a man of the people is ringing hollow.

Yeah, but it's different when it's a republican vs a democrat. I recall Obama back in 2008 trying to make a big deal out of how many homes McCain owned. And I also recall the GOP making a big deal out of Kerry's wealth too. Sucked then and it sucks now.

Both guys are filthy stinking rich. No doubt about it. The optics of the situation, however, favor the President.

It's just class warfare. There's many more middle and lower class people, thus more votes to drown out the upper classes' votes. Successfully portray the rich as demonic, heartless, soulless, anti-human, un-american rapist and murderers then simply attach them to your opponent. That appears to the democratic platform for this election season.

As opposed to Republican platform of portraying poor people as lazy, drunk, drug addicted worthless piece of scum fake American welfare queens who are ruining this country for the Real Americans? That's not class warfare though, obviously.

I notice you just freely spoke your mind.

Did you notice that too?

that is the GOP platform?

Funny...I never heard a prominant GOP rep ever say anything of the kind.

All I hear are those on the left claiming others say it.

Maybe the left feels that way?

How come there's no hue and cry from the MSM or from the lefties about the rich democrats? Kennedy was richer than God, would they say he was a bad president? They have no trouble bitching about Romney's wealth, as though that has anything to do with being a good president.

Of course. Democrats being rich is different. Somehow. It just is.

you pretty much made it clear what you think of success.
Thus why you are a jealous partisan.

as opposed to assigning Karl Marx to Democrats? pot? meet kettle.

spoken by someone who has no idea of the value to the economy when individuals SUCH AS YOURSELF invest in companies.

Your corporate masters have you well trained, I see. Good job, Pavlov. Income made from investment should be taxed the same as wages. Period.

You are entitled to your opinion.
But I believe you would be a happier person if you learned the value of investing...and truly understood the advantages to the economy if you did.

I wonder how that guy who worked for 30 years as a unionized machinist will feel when he retires and finds out that the man he adamantly supported for president was responsible for him having to pay 38% taxes on his 401(K) when he cashes out for his retirement.

Cap gains taxes at 15% dont just benefit the rich.

Or do you want a sliding scale on those as well? Only thoise that havew a cap gains of 1 million or more have to pay the increase?

If you invested in stocks you too would be paying 13 %

Income is income, and should be taxed the same. Period.

It is. But, Mittens uses the foreign tax credit every year to offset his taxes in the United States. Its a legal, though very shabby loophole that is not available to the average American.

And, wealth is taxed at an incredibly lower rate than income.

I really don't have much objection to him using legal loopholes even though I do believe the loopholes should be changed. I believe our tax system should be changed to be fair to all Americans.

What I object to is that he is a vulture capitalist who has gotten rich by destroying American businesses and American citizens. He's corrupt and a liar who wants us to believe he "saved" the Olympics when all he did was get a huge TAX bailout.

Ryan's is just as bad and just as lacking in ethics and morals. If they're elected, AND the Rs take the senate as well, we're all screwed.

well, IMO....wealth and income should only be taxed one time around....however, the interest and dividends on those investments should be considered income and taxed as such.

if I have to pay 38% on the interest and dividiends, then the ROI is substantially less and I am less likely to want to invest in a "risky or start up"...

That will slow down our economy and most certainly slow down the growth of business.

don't invest then. 0% ROI is so much better than 65% according to you(the top rate is 35%, IIRC).

I have a feeling people still want to make money...

You bet your ass, but these days investors and entrepeneurs can go elsewhere and make more money. A fact that those on the left seem to ignore.

No....we don't ignore it....we see it every time we go to a convenience store and see people who used to have real jobs working a shit job that teenagers used to work at.

So basically, what you are saying is that loyalty to our country, patriotism and sacrifice is only for the "little people". Leona Helmsley would be proud.

Not saying that at all, but what you're saying is a hard sell in this country. Most Americans believe an employee should be paid what he is worth, what the market will bear rather than what he needs to be comfortable. They don't want to be cheated of course, but they do want what they've earned, whether it's minimum wage on up to millions. What you're talking about is more socialistic, and that ain't patriotic to most people. The American Dream is all about being successful, but also being honest and fair with everybody. It's about working hard and earning what you get; it's not about getting more than you've earned, or paying someone else more than the job is worth - nothing patriotic about that IMHO.

And BTW, a job is a job. There is a certain amount of honor and integrity in doing any job well, regrdless of the size of the paycheck. Too bad more people don't realize that.

How come there's no hue and cry from the MSM or from the lefties about the rich democrats?

Because the left has no problem with rich people. The left only has problem with rich people who rig the system and screw over others for their own benefit. Have any of those Democrats tried to do so? If they have, then the left has reamed them hard for it.

Remember, don't assume we are like you. We on the left don't suffer from the overwhelming raging envy and the adoration of class warfare that defines the modern right.
