The Best/First/All Concerts You Have Been To

Wow, first concert would be a little gig in Los Angeles and it was the only time I ever heard Ritchie Valens sing. What a performer! Best concert ever was Pink Floyds Wall gig in 1980, simply mind blowing.

Most times I've seen a group would be The Who at around 20 or so. Other concerts I've been to are Led Zep, Fleetwood Mac pre Buckingham/Nicks, Eagles, Doors, Steppenwolf, Traffic, The Clash, and the most consistently fun concerts were those put on by Oingo Boingo. I've seen a whole passel of others but I can't remember them all!

In separate shows, I've seen Clapton, Cream, The Who, Hendrix. The Doors, Allman Brothers, Blood Sweat and Tears Iron Butterfly, Led Zeppelin, ZZ Top and the Rolling Stones. I've probably missed some.... Oh Beach Boys, Jan and Dean The Derek Trucks Band, The Grateful Dead and Great Southern.

I don't go to many concerts, but KISS at the HLSR was by far my favorite one.

I saw ZZ Top there the year before. Good stuff!

The most fun one was hanging with Ronnie, Sammy and Mike at the Cabo Wabo Cantina. Insanity !
There was only about 15-20 people in there because of a storm coming in, so the guys battened down the fort, fired the genset and got rocking. Killer food, free CW Tequila, smoke. That was in 2005, taking a break from building my house........sooooooooo always my luck.
Flying TOWARD a hurricane. :eusa_shifty:

Man I thought my list was solid....yours is obnoxiously impressive. I am realizing I am a concert amateur among pros here. :D

I'm not a hoarder/collector but stubs are my thang.
I forgot J.J. Cale. The usher refused to give me a stub.
But I did get his guitar pick.
Oh- and I purposefully left out the 2 (count 'em, two) Anne Murray shows that my ex dragged me to. LOL

I was at Toad's place for this. LINK
On August 12, 1989, The Rolling Stones played a surprise hour-long concert for 700 people at Toad's Place. They had been rehearsing for the "Steel Wheels" tour for six weeks at the Wykeham Rise School, a girls' school in Washington, Connecticut that had closed earlier that year, and performed the concert as "a thank-you to Connecticut for the hospitality."
700 is a vast overstatement, though by the end of the hour, there were probable 150 in the place.
I was called by a buddy who lived near Washington CT (Lichfield) and had had adult beverages with the band at the local country club. I was told only that I would kick my ass for the rest of my life if I didn't head for New Haven right then and there.
I got to Toad's about 7:30. There was a shit load of equipment on stage, but no indication of who would play.
Most everyone was sitting at the bar when the PA system came to life with, "Ladies and Gentlemen, The Rolling Stones"

First Real Concert: Led Zeppelin MSG 1970, saw Zep every time they were at MSG, best live band ever. The next day you'd feel like you were in a football game and had been tackled by linebackers

Concert that let me amazed the building withstood the assault: Blackmore's Rainbow, Beacon Theater 1975

Biggest Regret: Turned down every chance to see Frank Zappa, I thought I needed big musical ear to "get it" and I was wrong
