The “anti-austerity” riots in Greece

Union members, whether public or private, are normally "working middle class," and not CEOs, who have their own union. It's called the buddy system.

Interesting note however? Government Worker Unions outnumber those that attached themselves to private sector companies.

IT'S TRUE

And what happened to Greece? It all boils down to government meddling. It's going on here too. Answer this? Are WE "too big to FAIL"?

Was Greece?

The government didnt meddle. How do you figure? What it really is is that people just said screw it to paying taxes. If a government has no income they fail.

We (most of us) pay taxes so youre analogy is flawed.

No really? What do you think MORE entitlements programs are? Pretty soon you have too many riding in the cart versus pulling it. It is what happened in Greece. And precisely what I mean by intursion/meddling.

Wake the Hell up.

That's mild in comparison to what's coming here in America. This country is ARMED.

Ohhh, we're so skeered...a few thousand cowboys up against the United States military?

You seem to think that it will be right wing riots. It'll be the left - that's whose rioting in Greece.... those who are gonna lose the welfare tit. That's who they're talking about, maggie. You seem to think it would be right wing riots. Right winger know how to do austerity. It is liberals who have a problem with it.
Sad to say folks like Maggie are in complete denial about who makes up violent protests in this country, in spite of what is right in front of their noses, like what we've seen lately. And the Tea Party folks? They're retirees and moms who've awakened to worry about what's being left to the grandkids in the way of a country; that's what motivates them. Meanwhile our liberal friends search for right-wing militias behind every peaceful assembly. This just shows how they are followers, and not the individuals and independent thnkers their mythology so fondly tells them they are.

One of the largest are pensions. Greece's Debt is 135% of GDP.

SOURCE

They spent themselves into banruptcy and why the 'Austere' Cuts in how they conduct themselves. And why the IMF is bailing them out. Part of the deal is to raise the Retirement age...

Read about it yourself.

HERE

And Here

The latter goes back to February before any of us knew this was coming.

This is how NOT to conduct a country if you wish to remain solvent. Greece is a microcosm of Social Spending one's self into the grave.

And, in an ironic turn of events, the EU is now telling Greece that they must privatize their healthcare system!,.... hmm!,..... is that because the government was doing such a bang up job with it?? I hardly think so!! And for any idiot to say that Greece doesn't parelell our current problems, is smoking some pretty good shit! (or they are totally ignorant). My money's on the latter. As is the pattern here in the states,... the higher the taxes,... the more people evade them, and the lower the tax revenue for the govt. When taxes are lowered,.... the tendency to evade them drops dramatically, and tax revenue increases. Not political talking points,... but pure math. Liberals don't like to be confused with facts,.... their mind is made up!!

We haven't gotten as far into debt as Greece has yet. But most of that has to do with our strong credit rating. We are being propped up by China buying our treasury bonds (and our own Fed bank running a Ponzi scheme to buy up the additional debts). I'm not sure how long we can fool everyone with this. Eventually, as we keep spending like a Beverly Hills teenager with her parent's credit card, the credit rating organizations are going to lose faith in our government and downgrade our credit rating. As soon as it happens the interest on such a massive debt will become unbearable and we will very quickly spiral toward default. The question is, what happens when the world's dominant economy and the bulk of consumers goes down?

I'm afraid we have to turn to folks like Cloward and Piven,... Saul Alinsky,....Rev. Wright,...Cass Sunstein,......and Andy Stearn for those answers,.... unfortunatley

they are rioting cause greece raised the retirement age from 53 to 55.. work is not something sugar titty suckers are used to..
Just imagine a 20% cut across the board to all non-essential social services and subsidies in this nation. Most of that can be done by laying off workers. I'm sure the SEIU will turn most big cities into war zones if they can over such a dastardly thing to do. Not to mention the teachers unions, high powered corporate lobbyists and other groups who's gravy train is decreased in size when they're demanding increases.

The people you have to worry about violence from are on the left. They are the ones calling cops and the military pigs and baby killers. Most tea partiers call them officer, or sir.

As soon as you can define "non-essential," we'll be ready for debate. Do you honestly believe that a congress split as much as much as ours would ever EVER agree upon which "services" would fall into the non-essential category? Dream on if you don't think Republicans have their own favorite "non-essential" funding they never cut. For example, would they be willing to defund the billions in earmark spending they ran up from 2000 to 2007 for projects that are still ongoing? Hardly.
Fine, then do a 20% OF EVERYTHING. That'd actually be even better. Plus a decade long budgetary freeze at 2004 levels for all spending, including discretionary.

You wont get either side of congress to agree.

There's one difference. Greece doesn't have its own currency. They have euro ... We can print so much money as we wish, if we don't care about inflation ...

When the Riots come to the USA it will be 50 - 60 large cities all at once just after the US Armed Services are devastated on the Iranian plateau and the economy starts to unravel as oil soars past $300 the barrel. ACORN and their allies have been laying the groundwork for a good while.

"US Armed Services are devastated on the Iranian plateau"? :cuckoo:

WTF ARE you talking about? The US is going to ass kick the iranian filth...

Oh... what was it? 8 or so months ago, when we were discussing the looming US Civil war... and I said; as I am often wont to do; that Leftist policy is unsustainable, that inevitably Leftist economies will succumb to the fatally flawed reasoning which establishes the mathematic certainty that they must fail... that the entitled rabble who will have been taught by the Progressive frauds who preceded them that they are entitled to free livin'... that government's job is to set them on easy street... and when that failure comes that they will take to the streets in violent rage to DEMAND what's theirs... and that it would be THAT day when the Americans would wise up in defense from this revolt and crush the left in finality...

You may recall how the Douche Clique scoffed at the notion that there was any potential for "The Left" to rise up in revolt demanding there would-be 'Entitlements'...

Just thought I'd remind ya of it and slap up those photos of Leftists Rising up demanding their Entitlements from the predictable collapse of their Leftist government...

And ask ya... "How long befor ya figure you idiots will grow the necessary spine to demand yours?" Now do ya HAVE to wait for the system to collapse? Or is it possible to actually start the riots while there's still a chance to save it?"
Right...because Americans and our expectations are SOOO MUCH like those of Greece.

Americans? The problem here is not with Americans Bodi... The problem is one of Leftists... and Leftists are the same without exception, around the world.

what tax evasion?

It's Taxing to the point of being a burden on the country as a whole DUE TO Entitlements that could NOT be sustained.

Tax evasion was prevalent through out the country. People did it along with business. If a government has no income then nothing can be paid for. Their tax rate wasnt too far off from ours.

There was also mismanagement.

There was also a retirement age of 53. Whats ours?

Its not just one thing that caused the collapse to the degree we see here now.

Let me explain something for ya...

In any contest between Armies... the US is going to annihilate what ever forces the Middle East brings to bear.

Now that's an incontrovertible fact... and what makes it a fact?

The US will control the high ground... meaning that the US possesses uncontested air superiority... Beyond that, the US has satellite intelligence...

Thus, NO oppossing forces can be massed without the US knowing where they are.

Ergo... where ever those forces are, they will be eviscerated....

To wit:
ground_war.jpg

desertstorm.jpg

I'm sure that you're counting on the Soviet-era SAMS... and I would only point out that the SAME people that built the Iranian Anti-Aircraft envelope, built the Iraqi envelope which was what protected those thousands of troops ya see eviscerated above...

Iran has NO CHANCE of putting up any sort of air campaign after the first few hours of any exchange with US Forces. None... ZIP, ZERO... NADA! ZILCH...

Absent air cover, Iranian ground forces will be chopped to pieces where they stand... Armor, Artillery and troops...

So, let's just set aside all of the "4th Largest Army in the WORRRLD!" Crap... along with the obligatory "THEY'RE BATTLE HARDENED..." BS... It didn't play too well when President Hussein was HOPING on it to CHANGE his circumstances and it isn't gonna help President Al Ahmamidget... or Iran.

Cool?

True but who are you going to shoot to fix it?

There's the rub, PR.

Most of the people who really might deserve to die for what's happening are nameless puppetmasters.

And even if you shoot them, there's no shortage of people ready to take their place.
