Tebow is the second coming of jebus!!

2011 Offensive Line Rankings

Denver's Offensive Line is only ranked 23rd. It is a miracle that team made the playoffs. New England's Offensive Line is ranked 2nd. New England's Offensive Line is so good that Brady was never even sacked all game. There is no way in hell that Brady could do better than Tebow if he had Denver's front line. Brady would have had a concussion by halftime.

The Patriots Defense ranks 7th. Denver's ranks in last place. Seriously, Tebow carried this team.

The Pats had one of the worst defenses in the league, yardage-wise. However, they were middle of the pack or better from a points perspective. Denver did, in fact, give up more points during the regular season than New England. On the other hand, the games Tebow won during the regular season were almost all very low scoring affairs.

Using fantasy statistics to determine who is a better defense is insane. Blaming Tebow's ineffectiveness entirely on the offensive line is ridiculous, as is making claims which imply Tebow might be anywhere near on a level with Brady. Putting the entire blame for the large margin of defeat on the defense is wrong. This was a team effort to lose so badly. The defense couldn't stop the Pats. The offense couldn't move the ball on the Pats effectively. Tebow played poorly, under some adverse conditions, yes, but still poorly. His receivers dropped balls when he was able to get them the ball. The line didn't block well. The running game never got on track. It was about as dominant a game as you are likely to see in the postseason.

Tebow might grow into a good QB. He's not there yet. If he doesn't have the talent around him, he may never get there even if he has the ability. It will be very interesting to see the progression of the Broncos offense and Tebow's playing next year.

Well at least the hype can go away and people can look for a while at Tebow for what he is as a player and ignore the off field antics of his fans. As a player, he's a good old school (forward pass just permitted) style of player. But compared to the epitome of the modern quarterback like Brady, that's not going to get it done so well.

That said, I think the predictions of Tebow being 'solved' next year, just like the Wildcat was 'solved' the following year, are going to be on the money. This year, Denver over performed, and that is not an uncharitable thing to say. Their defense carried them away from many of the miscues and bad passes. 9 for 26??? If Aaron Rodgers had done that, Matt Flynn would have been in before the half.

Tebow's got a long off season in front of him improving his skills as a more modern quarterback. He does that, and his career is potentially lengthened. It doesn't... he becomes a trivia question only fans get right in a decade.
