Teacher fired by Texas Christian school for attending drag show

Catholic and Christian Schools have rules and conditions you sign up for as a student, parent, and employee. If you don’t like them or disagree with them, you are free to teach at many other choices. I sold internet software to an elementary school in Vermont back in the late 90s and was showing them how the teachers could control the students’ browsing and how other schools liked that feature because they didn’t want students watching porn. The Vermont school admonished me for bringing that up because they felt students should be free and open to explore anything. Point being: Go find a private school to serve as a teacher that aligns with your beliefs. Simple.
.

If they demanded in her first interview that she be a practicing Catholic to teach there, and if she is doing everything that practicing Catholics do, including receiving the Sacraments, including Holy Communion, they have every right to fire her because there is no priest who would give Communion to a lesbian.

"abc27 has an update on a case involving a former Lebanon County scout and church leader who was charged in Virginia with child sexual assault."

"Shawn Gooden has now pleaded guilty in Virginia to four sexual assault charges involving a child less than 14 years old."

What rule you thick fucker ?

From you own link....did you read your own link you dumb fuck?

Leaders of the First Baptist Academy in Baytown ruled that Kristi Maris, a teacher at the school for 19 years, had breached a condition of employment requiring her to “act in a godly and moral fashion at work, on Facebook and in my community”.

Maris told ABC13 of Houston she agreed to the condition, but did not realize it prevented her attending a drag show, or sharing photographs or videos of it. In a Facebook post, she said the entertainment was “a blast”.

Demand tolerance. Offer none.

That’s modern Christianity.

Maris said she was a devoted Christian and taught her students that God loved them all equally. “We should love everybody, and that’s what we’ve been teaching, but they’re expecting us not to do that,” she said.

Apparently she has a clause in her contract that requires her to be "Godly".

But she had no idea that having a burger at Haburger Mary was un Godly.

It seems to be a loosely defined clause and very much open to the interpretation of whoever is in charge at the time.

I am certain it would not be upheld in the UK but I am not an expert on US employment law.

So her 20 year service is binned just like that. I dont see the Godly in that action

"We should love everybody" doesnt seem to be a part of modern Christian teaching.

Good!!!

Texas is an "at will" State. They can terminate for whatever reason they want.
