Communist Party Members You Voted Into Congress.

What does this absurdity have to do with the topic at hand?

The far right can't control the schools no matter how much the want, so that is not a problem.

Military appearance (jackets, pants, camouflage, etc) has unfortunately become a symbol of danger in civilian life.

School uniforms for students and teachers and staff and administration should be mandatory.

Jake, this has nothing to do with the far right. This is just plain common sense. Spare us your asshattery.

Sadly, his behavior looks to be the norm.

There is no justification for anyone to shit their pants over a freaking camo jacket.

Communist Party Members You Voted Into Congress.

What does this absurdity have to do with the topic at hand?
Nothing to you, because you didn't ask the question.

"I think in situations like this, staff members reacted exactly the way they were supposed to react and I think school administration acted exactly the way they were supposed to act and so did the police department," Connellan added.

And, in a report on TV, it said he had ignored the school rules concerning dress in the past.

Sadly, we ignore things like this at the peril of our children.

When it has been ignored in the past, the result has been mass shootings. The nutters can blame PC libs if they want but if the kid had been armed, if he had shot others, they would be the first to clamor for the heads of the school for not catching an obvious warning sign.

Well duh.... everyone knows ignoring the dress code is gateway behavior to shooting up the place. You should teach at this school. You'd fit right in.

By the way, the jacket wasn't against the dress code.
Usually these shooters dress up in black, not camo. They tend to dress in Goth. Around here they'd be locking down schools constantly because wearing camo is pretty big. Especially during Turkey Hunting season.

Question: now that the nutters are demanding guns in our schools, what should be done when a kid shows up dressed for military action?

Somehow some far right reactionaries think school uniforms are 'government control.'

Yeah, I know! They are smoking some serious stuff, yeah.

What a dumb hing to say.

You want to ignore everyone except those in black?

Your commie post above was beyond stupid and now this?

From a few remaining friends who have not yet managed to free themselves from Taxachusetts:

Massachusetts is NOT a Communist state.
Massachusetts is an extremely liberal state with dreams of going fully Communist.

Coming from you that means very little.

No offense.

Student Wearing Military Type Jacket Prompts Southington School Lockdown

Here's the problem with this: if a student wearing a 'military style jacket' had entered the school and the school didn't order a 'lockdown,' and that student produced a firearm and proceeded to kill and injure other students, there wil be those whining about how the school was wrong for not ordering a 'lockdown,' and that schools are doing a poor job of protecting our children.

Whatever schools do to respond to possible threats will always be perceived as 'wrong,' whether warranted or not.

There should be only one entrance to every school, manned by security personnel. All other ways of entering the school should be locked and used as exits only. Everyone entering the school should be either known to security or provide ID and if necessary be searched, the way we are searched when entering airports and government buildings. No one should be inside a school building unless he/she has passed through effective security. Everyone should have to walk through a metal detector and have their bags go through the xray device. That's the reality of safety today in American schools.

The paranoia of the public school teachers is reaching a fever pitch.
Army fatigue jackets at one time used to be all the rage.
The teachers need to have their meds checked at the school door before entering.
Why is everyone attacking the teachers? If you worked in an environment where there were, with regularity across the nation, mass shootings and mass killings, you too would be very concerned about safety in the building. It's easy to attack schools and teachers for their concern about safety when you don't have to face such events in your own work environment.

“Why is everyone attacking the teachers”?

Because teachers are easy to attack, in a thoughtless, ignorant manner, whatever teachers or school officials do is 'wrong.'

Schools and school officials are trapped in a perpetual lose/lose situation.

Then you do want a society with laws?

Then act like it. I don't tolerate rudeness, you know that.

I treat people how they treat me.

yes, your argument ad abusrdum, not withstanding.

I treat people as they deserve to be treated, and your "fake former republican" act deserves to be scorned.

Now you see why students aren't learning anything in these little commie camps
