I'm curious why the author of this article gives the GOP a pass, after the GOP has been promoting socialism from both houses of congress and the white house for the past 5 years.

Why? I'll answer you. It's because Conservatives are self-righteous hypocrits who's closed minds don't allow them to differentiate between anything other than black and white.

Max and Hag, since you both appear to agree with the article by your feverish attacks upon the GOP (for hypocritical spending/promoting socialism just like the Dems have been doing for years and years) I assume that you will not be voting Democrat (as well as GOP) the next time around?
    :cof:

Thanks Bonnie for a great read.

I guess the past five years in his opinion doesn't equate with the last 40 years of failed Democratic policies..

    It depends.

From a realist's point of view, the ideal situation is the one we had from 1994-2000, where partisan bickering (from neither party having enough control) results in a deadlock where it is difficult to pass bills.
That's why we were running a budget surplus in the late 90's.

From an idealist's point of view, vote libertarian!

Last 40 years? In the last 40 years, the Dems had control of the government for 2 years in the early 90's, 4 in the late 70's, and 8 in the 60's.
And I hope we can agree that LBJ and JFK are not the same "breed" of Democrat that we're seeing today.

Government expansion is a serious problem. I just find it funny that people defend the GOP on this note, despite their spending tendencies.

its undeniable association and intellectual union with Marxism, and the state of American politics today. There IS LIGHT AT THEN END OF THIS TUNNEL FOLKS!!!!!! We who know must influence the uneducated who don't, our family and friends, and end this nightmare. Freedom and Liberty itself are at stake!! I'm very confident we are and will win. WHY? Because the key ingrediant for MARXIST/Communist/Socialsit/Democrats is to be in TOTAL control of the information. Without TOTAL control, which until the onset of the internet, talk radio, a few newspapers, and FOX NEWS, the Marxist had, the MARXIST/Communist/Socialist/Democrat cannot dictate ideology or the political agenda to the American people. This is without doubt why talk radio, FOX, the Washington Times, National Review.. ETAL, are held in such contempt by the Democrats. The jig is up and they are afraid eventually the American people will realize 75 years of mistakes. God help the liberal Marxists when this does happen.

I would agree although more so JFK, LBJ was closer to today's Liberal Democrats on spending and social programs, while JFK was closer in his liberal social policies. Luckily they both had some cahonies when it came to foreign policy.

That said I think the author was really referring more to the background Democrat engineers that were working behind the scenes to put their agenda slowly and surely into place, nowadays they still do that but they just say it's being mainstream.
