Persons who would wait until they had to have an ambulance bring them to the hospital are now scheduling surgeries to prevent acute care. Therapies are replacing procedures. And the surprising thing is that we are making a killing (no pun intended) on this bonanza. If you're playing the market long term, invest in health care. The profits structure is only growing.

I think the "solution" is basically heavily regulated privatized insurance and provider care, Obama-care but with more teeth. The effective repeal of the mandate penalty was a mistake. It should be costly to not have insurance. That way everyone buys insurance. Moreover, prices should be totally transparent - that should be an up-front requirement. It's ridiculous that people can't find out what they're paying until weeks after a doctor's visit. There should also be price controls, too.

Other than that, a public option might not be so bad for low-income folks who don't quite qualify for medicaid. In fact scrap medicaid and just have a low-income option that's either minimum or no-cost. Private care would still exist.

correct. Obiden 1 solved it by implementing $8K deductible and $12K iut of pocket max per person. Used to be a $10 co-pay or so. Nothing is free. But to Illegals and the poor requring medical. We cover the cost indirectly now. Premiums up over $1000/mo. Used to be maybe 1/3 of that.
