Who Is The Internet's Favorite New ‘Star Wars: The Force Awakens’ Character?

TR-8R has certainly taken on a life of his own, with plenty of memes emerging in the past couple of weeks. And many believe that this character is way cooler than Captain Phasma, which has to disappoint a few of the crew members who worked so hard to bring Gwendoline Christie's character to life.

While TR-8R probably won't be his given name, the popularity of the character will surely have some folks at LucasFilm thinking of ways to reincorporate him into the overall canon. Perhaps he'll get his own one-off Marvel comic book?

Hot Toys is releasing a First Order Riot Control Stormtrooper and Finn action figure set, which isn't expected to arrive until June or August. It will only set you back $359. You can pre-order HERE. But why is this particular Storm Trooper now a hero? Because he is not part of the rebellion? Because he fought Finn to the death using a nonlethal crowd control weapon against a light saber? Only to get shot in the back by Han Solo?

Storm Trooper academy is being hurt by lower standards for diversity. Ended up costing them their whole planet. Female trooper caved and lifted the shields. Black trooper couldn't hack it and defected to the opponent.

The spinning sword thing was dumb.

I understand what they were trying to do, but they did it badly.

I think this is a reaction to the lack of a really cool bad guy, like Vader.

Donald Trump should've been in charge of the New Order. He would have built a beautiful and magnificent Death Star. His trooper army would be so powerful no one in the galaxy would ever resist. He'd colonize every planet in the universe and probably lay claim to the empty vacuum of space just outside the edge of the universe that it is expanding into.

You know, Cleetus, I think you might be on to something. This film did lack a clear-cut bad guy. As a group, the First Order is pretty evil. They kidnap babies and brainwash them, they blow up planets, they shoot whole villages filled with innocent people in them.

But none of the individual villains were as memorable or menacing as Palpatine, Vader, or Tarkin. Heck, even Count Dooku was a more effective villain in the prequels.
