Foo has always had this habit, But I just finally decided to record it.

No.

He picks it up with his mouth and takes it to an area where he can play with it when it gets under something or in a cramped space.
My two oldest cats have done that all their lives. They'll take a straw to the edge of an area rug, shove it under, then try to get the "prey" from its hiding place.

The last cat I had just meowed for food and threw up all day.
But he had to be put down for cancer. :(
